Ricky Martin and Christina Aguillera - Nobody Wants to be Lonely |
] |
Teodoro Benigno was one of the major reasons why my family had patronized The Philippine Star for more than a decade (aside from Just Asking by Mary Prieto when she was still writing, Betty Go Belmonte's articles when she was still alive, and of course, Ricky Lo's Fanfare). I won't even read Max Soliven 's or any other writer's column; I'd just read his. He was a fierce columnist. He'd bravely write his honest to goodness opinions matamaan na kung sino dapat matamaan. I love that he wrote English so fluently and simply as if its his first language, never highfalutin and not too flowery, direct to the point and burning. I didn't watch Firing Line though kase kung gaano sya ka-intense magsulat, ganun sya kalumanay magsalita, nakakabore, but he was undeniably one of the greatest columnists. It's hard for anyone to follow his act and replace his shoes.
