Tangina, I'm so bored. I was on leave for 2 days, last Monday and yesterday and kain, tulog, watch ng DVDs lang ginawa ko. And now I'm getting tired of watching DVDs. Last night I watched My Wife is an Actress which was a so so albeit funny French film. Tapos I watched Inner Senses which was another so so supposedly scary Chinese movie. Leslie Cheung was good, though.
Also watched Henry and June which starred Uma Thurman and Maria de Medeiros, pre-Pulp Fiction days, with Thurman playing June Miller, the wife of Henry Miller, whom Anais Nin, played by de Medeiros, had an affair with. Actually, she also had a pseudo affair with June, so they were like having a threesome in a way. The movie dragged and dragged. I was actually kinda expecting it because this film was based on Nin's diary, and I have read it, and I got bored with it. Ang ending, binenta ko ang Diary ni Anais Nin ehehehe, all 5 volumes that I had. Anais Nin was a fascinating and bold feminist icon, but maybe her story is just too go-girl-power for my taste.
I also watched City of God which was a good gangstah movie, but there wasn't really anything shocking in it (except for that scene where a kid was asked to choose if he wants to be shot in his hand or foot). It was really violent but had nothing new to offer in terms of film making. "Hip" directors love this style. Paul Thomas Anderson, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Quentin Tarantino, David Fincher in Fight Club, Darren Aronofsky in Requiem for a Dream, even Quark Henares in that Maui Taylor flick, Gamitan. Ok, they make good to very good movies, but I'm beginning to get tired of that style. I really wanna see something new.
Now, I'm trying to finish Citizen Kane. I'm not sure I like it. Maybe a journalism student would, though. It just doesn't interest me.
Anyway, so I'm tired of watching DVDs. I'm not in the mood to read books. What I really wanna do right now is to redecorate our bathroom upstairs. The thing is I don't have the moolah to buy paint and other bathroom decorative. Humanda ka sa'kin kapag nagka-13th month pay na ako! Pipinturahan kita ng baby yellow!!! Waharharhar!!!
