Tornadoes were pummeling the area. As I ran with a group of people through a building that was already torn up by a tornado once, I spotted a door by some stairs. The door was hidden behind a heavy black sheet of metal but the tornado had jutted that metal loose. I, along with a group I end up calling my "family," pried the door open and ran through underground railroad tunnels. Eventually we ran into a large underground world and I bumped into a young Kori. (I was young myself. Around 10, which was the last time I saw Kori in-person.)
When she mentioned she had never seen me before, I hastily explained that our city had been crushed from above. She looked at my hand and remarked that I--along with the rest of my "family"-- was missing the "transmitter," which I noticed was placed on the hand.
"When we were running the shakes sent us all falling to the ground! And when we tried to get back up they caught on something and were ripped out!" Kori was skeptical but accepted my answer.
The next thing I knew I was a 19-year-old who enjoyed climbing the bamboo trees, had already broken three bones in the past, and was on my way up top to woo the rich and famous David Cummings, who was needed because our underground society was running low on funds. Because it was well-known that he was seeking out a bride and was being visited by many, many different women, my presence wouldn't have been noticeable. And since I didn't have a transmitter (I don't know why they never gave me a "new" one) I didn't look abnormal.
The dream briefly showed David rejecting a couple of girls and beginning to feel exhausted by his endeavors to find a wife to share his fortune. By the time I met him the stars were already out. I decided to dazzle him by showing him my astrological prowess.
"Those girls would have never worked for you. To find someone who's right for you, you just need to look toward the heavens."
And then I outstretched my arm to the sky and pointed out a cluster of stars in the shape of David and then controlled him as he flung a rope (made of stars, of course!) up farther along to a girl being out held by Taurus.
David was wooed and the dream ended!
Except I'm not a Taurus. |
