Well, you all know how I feel about Fridays. I have a weekend in my new house to look forward to. I am hosting a dinner party tonight for The Love's side of the family (it was going to be yesterday, but that is a long weather involved story, which I will spare u.)
Anyway, we are celebrating so, we will be eating a late meal tonight. The Love's sister and her man will attend. It was Beaujolais Day yesterday. I'll make a Sautéed Foie Gras wih Apples, pork tenderloin, haricots verts à la provençale (green beans w/tomatoes& garlic)& I bought the Galette des Rois because it is too tricky to make. Believe me, this is still not a lot of food for this crowd. On holidays it is 7 courses. Every year Beaujolais Day falls on the third Thursday in November, and has been celebrated for centuries as the first chance to taste the Beaujolais wines on the day of their release from the French Vineyards. Of course we won't have any of the brand new good stuff until his aunt ships some over, but The Love's brother has some pretty amazing wines. He's promised to bring several choice reds so we don't feel too left out. Don't worry - I won't eat anything all day in preperation for it. The Love's family believes in eating desperately late so I'll be up til all hours. I have a pretty light day at work today so I can come home early & prepare. I can eat everything on the menu without too much stress except the pastry. So I'm off to try & squeeze in a good workout this morning.
