Its funny how I rant about how much more civilized American sports fans are than European sports fans after they threw flares on to a soccer field in the middle of a game, including one hitting the visiting team's goaltender. Well, its ironic that after I say this and post it and defend it that at last night's yankees/Red Sox game a fan hits yankees OF Gary Sheffield in the face. While this is not as bad as hitting someone with a flare, it is still bad none the less. A fan and an athlete should exchange nothing more than words. But I would like to say that the security at Fenway Park last night got in there as quickly as possible and controled it to the best of their ability. And I give Gary Sheffield a lot of credit for controling himself and not going back to that fan and punching him, like he had intended.

  today I have decided that American Sports fans are a officially better and more respectful than European Sports fans. As harsh as the words that we use to insult opposing teams or hated players and yes we do throw things...but we throw plastic cups. Yesterday in a soccer game in Europe fans threw FLARES on the field. They threw 30 FLARES on the field including one flare that hit the opposing team's goaltender in the back of the hand/shoulder and he had to be carried out on a stretcher. Now I know players have been carried out on a stretcher here in the US but it wasn't from something a fan did.





This was spawned by a discussion in one of my classes, on a book or an essay or something we were supposed to read, about how much more "civilized" Europe is than America.

  I'm watching the Red Sox home opener and before it NESN aired a recap of last years season....and every time I see a tribute, a tear comes to my eye...and I get one of those warm feelings inside............its nice though.....

  so I was watching SportsCenter last night and the best segment...errr excuse me, the 2nd best segmant...was aired.......it was Nick Bakay(I think thats how he spells it) and he did a report on the Stanley Cup Playoffs...of the lack of a Stanley Cup Playoffs.......it was a good segment because he pointed out all the GREAT things about the NHL and hockey that other sports are severly lacking...and it made me miss the NHL even more.....I love the NHL....hockey is the best sport with some of the best athletes.....hockey :( :( :( :( :(

but I'm glad baseball is finally here!!!!!!!

but none the less, I did miss my NHL this past winter....


P.S. the BEST segment that SportsCenter has ever done........the tribute to the 2004 World Series Champian Boston Red Sox

Saw "Sin City" Sat night. Was good. A lot of shots taken at guys' crotches, too many for one movie. But it was a good movie. I enjoyed it. Was interesting. Elijah Wood's character was frigin AWESOME, Kevin I beleive his name was.

so....I got up on Tuesday and didn't feel like going to my business class, so I didn't. Then this morning I got up and decided that going to that same class was "not in my cards"....so I didn't go. So I haven't gone to my business class all week, lol. Not that I really care cuz we are doing financial stuff...income statements, balance sheets, stock market, etc...and I know most of that from other classes........and I really don't like the prof all that much either. Ok, thats enough of my rambling.......bye people
