|Dear friend, (i like to ramble)
It’s summertime. It’s been quite muggy today. It doesn’t look like it should be hot outside but it is. It’s quite humid as well and there’s barely any breeze. According to the news, the temperatures are just going to rise this week, peaking on Wednesday at about 35°C. I think it’s fairly obvious that I’m not looking forward to this.
I like the rain in the winter. I like the big thrashing, lashing sheets of rain that blanket everything. I don’t like the rain in the summer when the skies are grey yet there’s still a bit of heat. I’d been wishing for some sun when it was raining earlier on in my summer holiday but now I’m rethinking that a bit.
I saw Legally Blonde 2 on Thursday. I did prefer Legally Blonde to the sequel but sequels are very rarely as good as the original. I saw my English teacher afterwards. I don’t think she saw me but, even if she did, I doubt she would have connected me as being in one of her classes for the last two years. She lives in her own world although I must admit that she is a very good teacher. I’ll have a different teacher in September. I’m hoping that I have a good teacher. Fingers crossed.
I can’t wait to watch Alias tonight! I just recently got Sky One Mix, which is wonderful, as now I don’t have to stay up next Saturday to watch the second part of the two-part season finale. I can’t wait to see what happens. I’m going to keep my eyes pealed for any hint of Irina having a secret love affair with Sark. I mean, why else would she keep him around? Even if it is plainly stated otherwise, I know in my heart that they periodically break from being the Elite King and Queen of Espionage to have sex in that warehouse-type thing they are lurking in. I am really excited about it! I’ve had a quick look at various fan fiction web sites and message boards at all of the wonderful amounts of fan fiction I’m going to be able to read tomorrow.
I really need to make friends with someone who likes Alias. My parents and friends must be sick of hearing me talk about it.
I intend on being spoiler free for the next season of Alias although I have succumbed to reading a few (tiny) spoilers for ER.
I really need to create a family for Virtual Lives. I've decided that I will have two girls aged 4 and 6. I might decide to have a third child, probably a daughter, and make him/her two-years-old. I have been considering names for my hypothetical children although I have yet to settle on anything definite. In my last family for VL, my children were named Phoebe, Charles and Eleanor. Matilda is currently ranking high on my list of possibilities although nothing is set in stone right now.

|Dear friend, (last monday)
I wrote about my day on June 2nd but never actually got around to posting it. I gave up after lunch and did not write about the two lessons that I had in the afternoon so I attempted to write about them myself just now. Unfortunately, my memory is not as good.
I had English today. We had one of our speaking and listening tasks today. I was just horrible. It was a role-play and I am unable to express myself in the ways I would like to verbally. I just get embarrassed and made constant eye contact with Michelle (my partner), as I was too embarrassed to look anywhere else (i.e. at my teacher).
Miss Stone (she's very cool and I think she speaks to my biology teacher) informed us that we would have a group discussion at some point and perhaps give a talk to a group on a hobby or something along those lines. She said she wouldn't make us do it in front of the class and refused to call it a speech because a speech sounds unnecessarily scary.
I believe she also commented on how "this doesn't matter in the great cosmic scheme of things" as she was writing on the board. I believe she was commenting on how the SATs or our speaking and listening weren't that big of a deal. She made sure it was clear to us that she cares more about the teacher assessment than the SATs marks because the examiner could be "freaky" and mark higher or lower. God knows what she was on about then. I pay attention in class and thus remember stupid things such as the example I just gave.
After that, I had design and technology where I demonstrated my inability to draw straight lines and saw in a straight line. Fortunately, I managed to tidy up my product a little by sanding all of the edges, which made it looks substantially straighter. I hacked a chunk out at one place on it so that looks awful. I painted it and it looks terrible. There’s a tree (á la a four-year-old child) with red splodges on ("apples"). I have a terrible cloud, a child-like sun with extravagant sunbeams and a funny shaped cloud. The only saving grace is the grass that is just a rectangular shaped block of colour. The sky is navy and completely unrealistic. In short, things aren't looking too good for my design and technology product. I am going to take this moment to be thankful that I am not taking the subject next year. Design and technology was a double lesson with break time in between and lunchtime afterwards.
I ate my lunch in the quad today. It wasn't as nice as I had imagined but I put that down to the fact I was not sitting on the bench I had intended to and the weather wasn't fabulously sunny. Also, the trees I had imagined being there were absent. As you can tell, I spent quite some time visualizing this. It looked better in my mind.
Fifteen minutes into lunch, I decided that I had finished eating and decided to walk around a bit. I walked through the English corridor, looking in all the windows. A bunch of year eights were in room 11 and for some odd reason (I’ve noticed this more than once), my English teacher was rocking back and forth whilst eating and reading a newspaper. She strikes me as odd sometimes. Anyway, I walked through the English corridor and to the newly defaced ramp, which was empty. I circled the south block before walking up the steps, taking a right and noticing that the bench I had intended to sit on was occupied. I walked closer to the building, tied my shoelaces a bit better and walked in through the other door to the English corridor (where my form room is). Mrs Lynette (who is married to Mr Lynette, head of French) gave me a tight smile. It was lovely because the sixth formers and year elevens are not in school or are in exams so no one attempted to remove me from said corridor.
After exiting the corridor, I went to the ramp again, discovering that Megan, Jenny and Abi were there. Matthew Lewis later arrived before leaving again. Jenny was sunburnt and informed me of the fact Hannah had kissed Rachel Stockton at camp, just days after breaking up with Scott and kissing Josh.
After lunch, I had information computer technology, a lesson that no teacher turned up to. I spend the duration of it doing absolutely nothing due to the teacher’s inability to turn up. We were told we could use Paint on the computer or make a poster using Microsoft Word but I felt that they were not nearly as stimulating as sitting around doing nothing.
I had mathematics last and, unfortunately, I cannot recall what happened then.
|Dear friend, (it's not march)
It's June. If you asked me what month every month has felt like recently, it would be March. Whenever I change the date on my computer in order to continue using a trial copy of Paint Shop Pro that expired in December, I almost always click on "March" before the actual month when changing the date back. It's somewhat amusing but perhaps a little strange.
The weather has yet to turn especially warm although it has its moments. There's a wonderful cool breeze blowing at the moment. The leaves on the big tree that I can see out of my bedroom window are rustling, just like the small trees around it. It sounds odd to refer to the trees as "small" as they are far from small but in comparison to the large tree, they are. Rather oddly, it has just started to rain. I'm resisting the urge to stick my hand out of the window I opened. I don't imagine it will rain for long. The air smells so fresh.
Last night, it was hot and I couldn't sleep. The air felt hot and I just couldn't get comfortable. To sit here almost twelve hours later and watch the rain fall and breath the clean air is so refreshing. I think the rain is light now. You can barely see it and the noise it was making as it fell is no longer audible.
I have decided that I procrastinate too much during the week to have anything remotely interesting to say so I shall just have to collate all of my thoughts of the week and post them all at once.
Rachelle bought a notebook for me when she went to Arizona. I like it as it has "Putto's Kiss" (William Bouguereau) on the front and back. I had printed out a picture of it and glued it into my planner several weeks before she went to the USA. I thought it was lovely how she remembered.
Until last night, the notebook remained empty. However, after scouring numerous web sites for quotes, it now has text inside of it. Below, are the quotes:
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
"And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt."
"Writing is the socially acceptable form of schizophrenia."
"Be obscure clearly."
"Every writer I know has trouble writing."
"A synonym is a word you use when you can't spell the other one."
"Imagination is more important than knowledge."
I anticipate writing other quotes inside of it when I am able to find others that I like. I am contemplating copying out some poems that I am fond of as well. The notebook has morphed from an empty vessel into a ship full of words. And I, for one, couldn't be more thrilled.
I have just had an epiphany. I write about everything that is neither interesting nor special. It would probably be of more use if I wrote about my day but I don't think that I will.

|Dear friend, (wikipedia, the free encyclopædia)
The definition of geek has changed considerably over the years. Below are some definitions of the word "geek", in order from oldest (and most archaic) to newest. All but the first are still in use.
A person that swallows live animals, bugs, etc., as a form of entertainment at fairs etc. This often included biting the heads off of chickens. The Geek would usually 'perform' in a 'geek pit'
A derogatory term for one with low social skills, often with high intellegence. It is theorised that many of these people have Asperger's syndrome.
A person that is into technology, especially computing and new media. Comparable with the classic definition of hacker.
A person with a devotion to something in a way that places him or her outside the mainstream. This could be due to the intensity, depth, or subject of their interest.
There are many varieties of geek. The computer geek is best known, but every field of academia and many areas of culture have their geeks. There are politics geeks, geography geeks, geeks of the natural sciences, music geeks, history geeks, linguistics geeks, ham radio geeks, public transit geeks (metrophiles), anime and manga geeks (otaku), Star Trek geeks, geeks of many colours, genders, and styles.

|Dear friend, (we're the coolest kids)
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how much you want me to suffer), I have school once more on Monday. School is just code for "mental asylum". Why else would anyone want to place a bunch of hyperactive, horny teenagers together in one building?
I have, somehow, managed to jump onto another 'ship. As the Abby and Carter ("ER") 'ship seemed to be drowning, I have adopted lovely (code for drop-dead gorgeous) Michael Vaughn and Sydney Bristow as my new little sailors. Unfortunately, no one (e.g. my mother) wishes to be subjected to the details of "Alias". I love its intricate nature sometimes. Complexity completely works for me.
Yesterday, I went to the city centre (referred to natives of this place as "town") with my mother and sister. We met up with my cousin and her two-year-old son, Louis, who came over to our house afterward. Don't get me wrong, Louis is adorable but children are definitely not for me. I guess I find them frustrating because of their inability to express things. Little boys are tiring.
In town, I managed to stop in Waterstones, the place civilisation forgot. I really like it in there. I'm not sure if it is the gorgeous building it's in or the way it was cool inside despite the warm, humid air outside. I'm pining after going to Borders as that place, despite being in a brand spanking new building, is lovely. It's full of books, smells like coffee (thanks to Starbucks), is absolutely huge and has American magazines. Bookstores are my idea of heaven.
I'm sort of hankering after "Weetzie Bat" by Francesca Lia Block at the moment because her books are absolutely fabulous. It cost about £5 which I begrudge paying, especially since my discovery on Amazon US that the Dangerous Angels series - "Weetzie Bat", "Witch Baby", "Cherokee Bat and the Goat Guys", "Missing Angel Juan" and "Baby Be-Bop" are available together for just $9.60. Add on a little for shipping and it's still cheaper than buying them individually here. Once I get the Harry Potter book I've pre-ordered, I'm pretty sure that "Dangerous Angels: The Weetzie Bat Books" will be the next on my list. 496 pages of pure, unadulterated Block goodness. Yum.
Here's a hint of the wonder than is Francesca Lia Block:
"He kissed her. A kiss about apple pie à la mode with the vanilla creaminess melting in the pie heat. A kiss about chocolate, when you haven't eaten chocolate in a year. A kiss about palm trees speeding by, trailing pink clouds when you drive down the Strip sizzling with champagne. A kiss about spotlights fanning the sky and the swollen sea spilling like tears all over your legs."
That woman makes me want to move to Los Angeles every time I read anything by her.
The heat was unlike any I have experienced thus far this year. That's a sure sign summer is on its way. It's properly just as hot today but as there's a very slight breeze, it doesn't feel so bad. I sat outside in the sun with my cousin for a little bit but I soon discovered that it wasn't really a good idea. Considering the fact I burn quite easily, I decided to retreat inside and onto my computer. The freckles on my arm have come up a little more and I swear my arms are darker. There goes my intention of having Spike's (from "Buffy") amazingly pale skin.
I am proud of myself for doing my maths homework today. Ordinarily, I leave it until Sundays (tomorrow) but I was bored. I didn't feel like doing homework really but I know I won't feel any different tomorrow. I'm glad it is out of the way and done with. That leaves me with just my physics and biology homework. I've already done my physics homework - a draft - in class, which leaves me with the gloriously fun job of either writing it out or typing it. The joys of science homework!
I have been watching Big Brother, which is a lovely show full of boring people who are incredibly fascinating (especially once they've had a drink). I am disappointed Anouska was evicted for despite her annoying side, she provided more entertainment than Jon. My mother had the temerity to liken me to him. Quite obviously, this was when I was explaining Irina Derevko's life history.
"Holby City" made me cry on Tuesday. Chrissy's little baby girl died not long after she was born. It was heartbreakingly painful.
I'm here avoiding the urge to read "Alias" spoilers. I've resisted thus far but I am not sure how much longer my resolve will last. At least when school starts up again, a good portion of the time to spoil myself silly is gone.
No more late nights and late mornings now.

|Dear friend, (things you cannot deny)
01. Krull from "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" is one of the cutest dogs to have ever appeared in film.
02. The Cheeky Girls are geniuses. Just listen to "Take Your Shoes Off".
03. Lara from "Casualty" is the best. Just have your lovely fiance die, spend time in jail for killing the man who tried to rape you in self-defence, almost get shot work and you'll be just like her.
04. The "Casualty" writers have taken a leaf out of The White Stripes incestuous book. Lovely Anna and gorgeous Merlin are siblings who have had sex. The worst part is, I wish they would have more sex because they are so cute together. We can eliminate the sibling stuff.
05. The theme tune to "Spongebob Squarepants" is the best theme tune ever.
06. Krissy is lovely.
07. VL is the coolest place. Ever.
08. Lalaine is terrifying. Thanks fox_racing (Becca) for reminding me of this.
09. Pamela Anderson's breasts frighten small children and 14-year-old girls.
10. "Charmed" is a pretty cool show.

|Dear friend, (today i tried to be cool)
I fear I am looking forward to being classified as "uncool" by the whatiscool cool kids a little too much.

|Dear friend, (i think you should know)
My name is Charlotte although I am sometimes referred to as Char by people too lazy to type out the full nine letters.
I am a fourteen-year-old British girl hoping to survive the remaining years of school without going insane.
I am having hellorockview's babies as she set this whole caboodle.
