Just wanted to say, 'I am still around'. We have had a lot of family drama lately and I am in a bit of a funk.

Paper. But only if it is the kind with handles. Otherwise plastic, with a heapin' helpin' of guilt about it staying in a landfill for a bazillion years.

12:02 am - Wellllll.....
|
I survived the crawdad incident.
I am taking a college algebra class and I had my first test today.............(drumroll)........ I GOT A 91. 9...1....!
I literally looked twice at the name on the test to make sure it was mine.
Not bad for someone who used to throw up before math class in high school!

The hubster and I went out to dinner tonight. I ate an indecent amount of crawfish (fried, sauteed and etouffe). I have atomic heartburn. I have taken bicarb, Tums, and Pepto, and it still feels like a mad monkey is clawing the inside of my esophagus.
But dammit! I love crawfish!

I didn't get accepted in to the program. I have just let my self feel sad about it for the last two days, but now I am starting to think about what else I might do.
I am considering taking the summer semester off to do 'house stuff'. Hubby has suggested I consider looking into a physician assistant program at UTSW.
Tomorrow I am going to find out why I didn't get accepted. I think it is probably because I had a 'C' in my math class and one anatomy class. I have nine 'A's and two 'B's in the prerequisites, but I guess those 'C's are what did me in. Life goes on.

~~~~Happy Cinco de Mayo, Y'all~~~~
I am officially holding up my lighter and singing 'Free Bird'! I took my last final exam today!! Woohoo!
Now I just wait to see if they want my sassy self for the program. The call should (will?) come next Friday, May 16.
I am recovering from a really nasty cold that I swear I caught over the phone from my aunt. I have been coughing up stuff you could make a pendant and matching earrings out of if you were so inclined. Around my house we calls 'em "Lung Oysters". Thank God and Walgreen's for codeine cough syrup LOL
Well, that's it for now. I am still trying to get used to not having homework for a while. I can't wait to get through my program, get a job and be around grown-ups for a change. Going to a junior college sux when you realize most of your classmates weren't even born when you graduated high school. Oh well, better late than never.
12:48 am - Suffering from Chronic Posting-Lax!! Yup, that's me!
|
I have one more final exam to get through and then I'm off 'til June 2!
The good news is: It looks like I will be accepted into my program this Summer.
The bad news is: The program administrator/head faculty/clinical liason has retired and they still don't have her replacement, so there might not be a program :(
5:23 pm - Sorry if this cross-posts...
But I am having fun figuring all this stuff out. I was reading LJ for a long time, but never had an account with them because the free accounts don't give you very much flexibility, and I am too cheap to pay for one! I am really glad I read about Blurty in someones LJ. The Early Adopter thingy seems like it gives you almost all the stuff of a paid account.
For the past two days I have not even been able to read LJ. It just refuses to load. Has anyone else had that problem??
I tried remote loading from a Yahoo account, but the pictures drop off. Does anyone know of a better and most importantly FREE place to remote load?
Decided to start here. I was reading a lot of journals on LJ, but it crapped the bed one too many times. Most days you can't even get it to load, so I figured what the hell?
Got to figure this thing out first and then I will post more. Going to tell my husband to get one of these too. Something we can do together :)
