    2009 Acura TSX

More often than not, our staff compares the new TSX to a Honda Accord due to its upsizing (it's 3 inches longer and wider than last year's TSX) and more isolated feel behind the wheel. Yes, the Accord's a very good car that has gotten increasingly more refined and more feature-laden over the years. But if folks want one, they can go to a Honda dealer. People step up to the Acura brand expecting something different, something more involving to drive and more luxurious than a volume-selling family sedan. And based on our time with the 2009 Acura TSX, we don't think the company delivered.(Bio Ryan Binkley)

    Audi A4 3.2 Quattro

But don't consider this merely a super-sized version of the old A4. Responding to criticism that the outgoing model wasn't as sharp-handling as other sport sedans, Audi has utilized the new model's longer wheelbase to repackage the drivetrain. The engine is now farther behind the front wheels, which means slightly improved weight distribution from Audi's traditionally front-heavy 60/40 split to about 55/45.

    Pontiac Vibe GT Comfort

We think quite highly of the feel of the wagon's seats. Nicely bolstered, they're as plush and supportive as an overstuffed couch. When it comes to cabin noise, the Vibe performs pretty well for its segment, managing to keep both the howl of the wind and the rumble of the road at arm's length.

Ryan Binkley Profile : JD Power customer satisfaction poll '08 - Introduction

Why ask a few friends if they're happy with their cars when you can ask 16,000 motorists?

Tap into the JD Power and Associates/What Car? Customer Satisfaction Survey and you'll find out how 16,301 owners have got on with theirs.

All told, the motorists in our study have covered 272 million miles, so they've got a lot of experience to share.

    Ford F-150 Ford Focus SES
    Comfort

The front seats are firm and flat — they seem shaped for people who never met a Triple Whopper with Cheese they didn't like. On the SES coupe, height adjustment for the driver comes standard. One disappointment is the lack of a telescoping function for the steering wheel — this previously available feature was discontinued for 2008.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD CRD

Anyone buying this vehicle to save money on fuel might need to reconsider their assumptions. Due to the volatility of diesel prices (they can even rise above those of premium gas), the meager improvement in fuel economy provided by the ,655-Quick Order Package 22H's 215-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel engine could take 15 years to pay for itself when compared to the standard 4.7-liter gas V8. Furthermore, while this Jeep stickers at ,055, the diesel will not be to everyone's liking; at idle, you feel like you're in a bus stuck in city traffic.(Ryan Binkley Texas)

    Chevrolet Cobalt XFE
    Comfort

Although the seats remind many of us of the 1980s with their flat form and featureless fabric, comfort is still decent. Even on extended road trips, the cushions provided adequate padding and support. Seat adjustments for the driver are limited to fore/aft, seat rake and seat height. Rear seating is slightly less comfortable, with lower and flatter seats.

    Aston Martin DBS
    Comfort

Despite its low-slung roof line, the DBS provides impressive headroom, even for a 6-foot-3 driver, and good visibility on par with that offered by an Audi TT. Legroom is also impressive, with the eight-way power driver seat providing a wide range of adjustment. Sadly, the passenger seat does not adjust for height, which can make it difficult to find a comfortable position.

Info Ryan Binkley : Toyota RAV4 Performance

In typical Toyota fashion, the RAV4 has steering that's precise but devoid of road feel, while effort is still on the light side compared to rivals such as the Honda CR-V and the Outlander. Handling is competent, with moderate body roll only in tighter corners. Push it harder on back roads and the cautious stability control kicks in early and often. Though it doesn't have the sporty feel of some of its competition, that sits fine with us, as the RAV4 provides a generally secure feeling at the helm that should please most consumers. At 34.8 feet, the RAV4's turning circle is 3-5 feet smaller than other compact utes, making parking lot maneuvers and U-turns easier. Ryan Binkley Bio

    BMW 550i
    Comfort

There's a good chance you're either an NBA forward or a Lollipop Guild representative if you can't find a comfortable driving position with our 550's 20-way power seats. The seat bottom's front and back rise to ridiculous heights, the extending thigh support could probably reach your ankles and the elbowlike two-tier reclining seatback is a design of pure genius. The head restraints even pop out at the sides like first-class airplane seats. Throw in the fact that these seats provide endless hours of comfort and support, and it's easy to nominate the 550i for the perfect seat award, too.
