  The Fellowship of the Ring. It's much less boring the second time you read it. It still takes me a while to finish each chapter, but at least this time I'm not going, "Okay. Just one more paragraph. Just one more. You can do it."

  Aha! I have a purpose for this journal! To recommend fics (and books) and to post my art and doodles.

I'll start with some book recommendations:

Wyrd Sisters by Terry Pratchett (I still can't stop giggling about Granny and Nanny Ogg's reactions.)

Rose Daughter by Robin McKinley (McKinley's second retelling of Beauty and the Beast, and by far, her better one. Though I didn't care much for the ending.)

Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine (Yes. It is in the kid's section. But it is an amazing retelling of Cinderella - an entirely different take on the fairy tale.)
