    Time Event
    11:07a
185.00 for my niece to be a cheerleader...insane!
Yesterday, camp was pretty fun. Go carts came in the morning, so the kids got to ride around on those and learn a little about safety. Listening to the people talk was like being in driving school all over again, which sucked, but oh well. Hopefully, the kids didn't learn too much from the safety folks considering they ran into a van in the parking lot when they were putting the go carts up...I guess they were too busy looking for fake road signs and missed the parked vehicle.

After lunch we went to the pool since we didn't go last Tuesday because of the beautiful weather. Applying sunscreen was gross as usual, one kid did have the kind that comes in like a chap stick tube so I used it on some other kids faces which was much better. Anyway, the pool was fun CG and SS played with me most of the time. CG would surf on my back and they both tried to do some flips and stuff, it was fun...I love those two girls. While Casey was surfing on me one time our director was apparently walking by and he loves to dunk the counselors so you always have to be on the look out for him. Anyway, I come up to breathe and didn't have my eyes open yet when I hear CG say, "No Mr. Robert (director)!" Well, I had to look out for her safety...and mine so I opened my eyes really quickly to see him standing there and I just kind of whacked him. He says he was just going to the deep end and we were in his path...I don't believe that for a minute, but oh well. I do love this job though, I get to play with kids all day, I can hit my boss and not get in trouble...it's great.

I closed yesterday as usual, and it wasn't too bad because the kids are always pretty tired after the pool. We played the fun sweeping game, then I cleaned up the office while C "watched the kids"...and sent anyone that had a problem to me. When R and P got back from taking the fans, I asked what she had heard about the molds the kids made on Wednesday when we went to Sloss furnace. They didn't give them all to us, and so they want a description and a number of what we're missing...some people from AIDB (Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind) were there with us and, apparently they had a little trouble identifying their molds. I didn't even have a comment for that one...it was great. I also got to make fun of C who had several bad comments to make about how they could have even made a mold...if they couldn't talk, blah, blah blah. Good times.

Last night Rebecca came into town and Jennifer, Rebecca and I went to eat at Chile’s. I had my second medium rare steak...it was excellent. We had a good time catching up and then went and played putt putt with some other folks before coming home to make some ice cream. Homemade orange sherbert is just feakin' awesome. Carey came over for a bit too, so that was good. I also got a drunk dial last night around 2, thankfully I had just gone to bed so I wasn't really asleep yet, but that was my first drunk dial so maybe it'll be my last one too.

This morning, I went running with Pete again. His job was to find route that was less than five miles and had no hills, I was to meet him at the rec at 7. Well, when I get there he tells me he's made a shorter route cause there are a couple of hills. We ran over every freakin' hill on campus, and at one point my cadences ran out. Now, I normally run out and just replay them, but this time I ran out at an odd time if we were running, a lot less than five miles. I figured we were probably running more than that after we had been going forever, but eh. I did have one mp3 incident, it fell out of the little holder...my fault, but still. So we had to stop to fix it, that got a little and then the second to last hill killed me so I had to stop and walk. We walked for a bit and then ran the last hill, where he decided to tell me he had cut some of the run out in the middle. Of course he also tells me that it started out at 5.5 miles in the first place...I had some names for him. I didn't die though, and we ran about 4.5 miles and walked about a half a mile, so not too bad total. Still, I was exhausted, but eh. Hopefully laying out at the pool later and relaxing will help with that.
