Weekly dinners
Tonight we had the second weekly dinner (that I've been too, there have been three) and it was a good time. Since my father always feels the need to send me back with enough fish to feed five thousand, I had a bag full of fillets taking up space in my freezer that we put to good use tonight. I also got to get rid of some shrimp and gumbo that was taking up room. Anyway, Pete made a sauce that dad would have been proud of...it was excellent. I helped broil the fish and heated the gumbo. It was a very fancy meal for college students, and looked like something Paula Dean would serve up on the food network. OH! and I got to use one of the random pots mom has bought for me, my 3-in-1, one of the three being a steamer which we used for veggies tonight. The Kims and Jerica brought tea, salad, and bread which were all very good...I don't think the tea was twice as sweet as mine like Pete claims but it was very good. I made an eclair this afternoon and used my new homemade ice cream maker a lot this past week, so I also took orange sherbet, chocolate and peanut butter ice cream. To shorten a long story...it was a good time. Great food was prepared, eaten and some taboo was played, good times.
Today at camp was alright, we didn't get to go to the pool because it looked like rain, so we went bowling. The first game my kids played I didn't get to participate much except for telling them to sit down and pushing the rerack button. However, one kid finally realized he should let me at least help him and I bowled his first one each frame in the second game. For about five in a row I would get 9 and he'd pick up the spare, it was great. I was also bowling the first one for the kid behind him in the line up though and tended to get strikes for him; oh well JW got more practice than CW and they both killed everyone else. It feels like forever ago, but I had to go in work early this morning too, so hopefully I can continue the waking up early and go run in the morning. Six is going to come WAY TOO early though. I guess that's all for now, maybe I'll post about disappointing Dennis tomorrow, the great quotes from my parents and about our hurricane party.
