Back in T-town
This morning, I played a little Monopoly with the kids. I was suppose to play with them last night, but I went to see the newly weds and some friends so mom played for me last night. She didn't do the best job, but oh well. Anthony made a huge trade to acquire board walk when he already owned park place (I told Ashley not to do it, but she did) and he ended up owning that whole corner by go. There were hotels on his properties soon, and Ashley went bankrupt when she landed on boardwalk...she should have listened to me. It was fun playing with the kids, but then mom and I had to drop them off with my brother's wife so they could spend some holiday time with her.
Then mom and I hit up the Walmart and some fruit stands and came back home to hang out and load the car. I met Rach and her mom around 2ish and we did some more loading then headed back. The ride wasn't bad, but there was no speeding to be done because we were always behind someone going the speed limit...dang speed limit.
After dropping Rachel off and helping her unload I came home and unloaded all my junk, and then got in my weed eating gear. Daddy gave me lots of instructions on how to run HIS weed eater because it's finicky. I was also told to wear jeans, tennis shoes, and sun glasses...so I did. The weed eater started right up for me and I went to work, our yard looked like a car could park there and no one know...it was bad. Being it's July in Alabama, I got a nice workout in my jeans and tennis shoes, and now the yard looks much better. I also potted some new plants and swept off the porch.
Once the yard was taken care of I started on the house. Vacuuming is about the most boring thing in the world, but we've got to do it to get rid of the fleas. I did have some excitement today though when the vacuum cord knocked over a ladder in LeeAnn's room. The ladder proceeded to fall on the back of my leg making a nice scrape that likes to bleed. Since I didn't have a band aid the right size I taped a paper towel to my leg and finished vacuuming. The refrigerator was next on the list, so I cleaned it, and cleaned it out. Finally, I tried to arrange the daisies mom sent back up with me. Let's just say I was not born to be a florist, but I think they look decent.
Now I'm finishing up a load of clothes, so I'll have my camp shirt for tomorrow, and deciding if I want to run in the morning or not. I hope everyone had a good 4th of July, good night! |
