It's been a while
Okay, I'm not keeping up with this blurty too well. I wish I could blame it on being EXTREMELY busy with summer lab...but I can't. They say that summer lab is suppose to be hell on Earth, but I've got 8 days left (counting today) and so far it hasn't been that bad. My group is freakin' awesome...even though we have the annoying one. The last thing she did was show up to our meeting with Dr. Arnold drunk. It scared us all to death because she is loud regularly, but she did alright and hopefully he didn't notice. Other than that summer lab is going well. We've written proposals, played with big scientific stuff, and now we're working on presentations to explain what we did to while messing with the machinery. The only experiment we have left is the distillation column, and I'm the team leader for it. The DC is suppose to be the hardest one, but eh, we'll be alright.
Oh, since I posted last I have had my first medium steak. It was a big step for me, but I'm glad I took it. The steak was excellent, and my leftovers the next day were also very good. I actually have had a lot of steak lately, and they've all been very tasty. I do love meat.
In other news, Michael was suppose to get out on May 20th, but apparently there is some backlog in the parole department...so he's still chillin' in Union Springs. He's fairly upset that he isn't out yet, but eh, he's at their mercy right? Granted it doesn't make since that folks complain about the prisons being overcrowded, and yet they don't let people out when they're suppose to...oh well. I don't know how it's going to go when he gets out, things will definitely change. My mother has been calling me a lot more lately to check in, so I think it's really getting to her that everything is about to go to hell...again. Ashley has been wanting to have more talks with mom, and the kids at school were pretty rough on her this year, but as cruel as this may sound, she's going to have to learn to deal with it. She and her brother live with her grandparents while her other brother lives with her mom and her dad is in prison...she's gonna have a hard time at school, it inevitable. We'll see how it goes though, he may not get out until August, I'll probably try and go see him again sometime if he's doesn't get out soon.
I went to the pool on Saturday, and came home extra crispy. I did enjoy it though, I need some sun that's for sure. I haven't peeled anywhere so far, but I think my face is going to peel. Hopefully this gross weather will clear up and I can go lay out some this weekend. I need to get back to the gym too!
I guess that's all for now, even though I'm sure I've left a lot out. MAYBE I'll keep up with this a little better from now on, but I can't make any promises. |
