Waiting for the other shoe to drop Summer lab is going along nicely. I finished up my part of the paper this morning, and we met at 8 to make sure our idea for the first experiment would work...it will. The CSTR paper was finished by 11ish and then we had lunch at Pizza Hut. I haven't been to Pizza Hut in forever, but it was good and cheap, which is the important part. The group is working well, but we may have some problems with one of our members. Today while we were trying to decide what to do for lunch and when to meet again she said she had other stuff that she had to get done. Now we are scheduled for class M-Sat. 8-5, that doesn't leave much time for "other stuff". Anyway, when we told her to decide what time to meet because she was the only one that had "other stuff", she was like, well I just need 4 hours of daylight. WTF, I'm sorry but once things pick up...like tomorrow...there will be no extra time for 4 hours of daylight. Maybe she hasn't heard, but for the next five weeks our lives are all about some ChemE...yes I know that sucks, but that's just how it is. We'll see how it goes with her tomorrow. After lunch James went over the evaporator with us and then we split up the parts of the paper to work on tonight. I have the easy part of this paper, it's just the letter of transmittal. SO, basically right now I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Once we turn our first paper in tomorrow morning we will have to redo it, and the revision in with the next paper on Thursday morning. It will all start moving pretty fast and get really stressful I'm sure, but tonight I don't have much to do except make the baffles we tested this morning and rest. One little thing did happen today though while Tyler and I were going over the evaporator valves. I went to touch one to tell him what it does and the thing started spraying...it scared me to death. So I had to run over to the other building to find James and he came to fix it. I thought I had broken the thing, but he said something just got clogged and it just happened to be while I was explaining it...so no harm done...just a little scare. Hopefully it will be the first and last. Now I think I'm going to take a nap and then work on the baffles and maybe read...something other than ChemE. |
