mood: curious music: Goldfinger - Decision
|
It's been a while since I've updated. I attribute that mostly to my first busy week home from college, but also because I'm spending less and less time in front of the computer.
I went to Chicago twice this week, first to attend the Finch and Vendetta Red concert and visit Lee, and yesterday to attend the Men's USA vs. England soccer game. I got to meet Alex from Finch again, as well as Randy and the new drummer. I look forward to developing those pictures. I didn't actually go to the concert with Lee because he had a final that evening, but I went with his friend Todd and Todd's girlfriend Kyia. Both are very nice individuals with god senses of humor. We have a plethora of inside jokes from the train ride. Namtab!
The second voyage over the border was with my great lady friend Christie after spending the previous evening at her house. We stopped in Milwaukee to pick up Stojan so he could drive us to the game. He gave me a tour of the apartment. It was a little weird standing in Matt's room, but only a little. I wonder what would have been said had he actually been there. He probably would have hid in the closet.
We were late to the game due to some parking fiascos, but I enjoyed it overall. On the way back to Milwaukee Chris called because he wanted to see me since i was in the area. Christie and I agreed on a place to meet for dinner, and I told him we should all eat at Pedro's Mexican Restaurant. Right away he said that wouldn't work because he didn't feel comfortable driving there. This didn't sit well with me for several reasons. First of all, I've driven over two hours to visit him over the past year or so. I'd just been in a car for over 90 minutes coming from chicago, and he can't drive 30 minutes to meet us in Brookfield? Secondly, he's one month shy of being 21 years old. Isn't it time he learned how to comfortably drive to nearby towns? Even if it wasn't a comfotable drive (as driving on the interstate often isn't), he should at least be able to suck it up and do it.
He hadn't seen me for almost two weeks. I guess I thought he'd want to see me, but I guess it wasn't that pressing of a matter. Now he has to wait at least another week (keep in mind we used to see each other every day when we lived on campus, so this is a big change for us). It jsut seemed very out of character. He apologized, but he doesn't think he did anything wrong so I don't know what he's apologizing for.
In other news, the lease is finally comnig, so I'll have a house soon. My new job starts on Tuesday. Katrina comes home soon. My mom still hasn't apologized for her condescending remark earlier and also for invading my privacy by not leaving my room even htough I asked her multiple times. I wasn't hiding drugs or anything... she just wanted to open my windows and I didn't want them open. So stupid.
Also, I passed portfolio. I'm officially a student in the Film Department now. Phew. |
