A Tale of Two Cities Quotes My favourite quotes from a very good book, much better then Great Expectations, sorted by chapter. Those that have plot significance are bolded or something to that extent. Sorted by chapter, hope you like. It is painfully long and thusly it will be cut. Don't read them if you didn't read the book, really. Be mature and don't spoil it for yourself. It might get obscure so I recommend grabbing a copy for cross-referencing. I would also highly recommend you actually study though plot quotes are usually rather boring and long so I bequoth them the Devil.

Planet Earth - Duran Duran |

Today was particularly productive:
- Marilyn Monroe bases and an icon or two [I scanned all the pictures yesterday after the Marlene Dietrich ones. Those are not yet bases despite the fact that she's prettier, sort of.] - Animation Shop 3 will submit, dammit! thank you. - Defragged Charon before he had a hernia and went into deep masochistic depression. And I'm the one who's supposed to have angsty teenage depression trips, not my computer. - Bunnyness! and Maggie Moo ice cream as well evil strip malls that cut down lots of trees and are all muddy. Somebody needs to sand their planks before making fences. >:/ - Orthodontist. I'm back on rubber bands. huzzah. I don't think he even remembers putting me on them to start with... I love how he never talks to me other then the obligatory 'hi, how are you doing today?' Even when I need to move my head so he can go violate my mouth better, it's yank pull "stay". Gee, thanks mister. I'm not stoopid you know. ::mutters:: - Library. I have swiped Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Bjork, and Stone Temple Pilots. [In case you cared, I can't spell pilots. You didn’t but now you know. Spell check is my friend.] If that does not more firmly affix the "Loser" sign to my forehead I'm not sure what I have to do. They had NIN but the cd was crappy quality and I don't want to kill Charon trying to burn it. ::pets her baby:: - Stupid brace fell off. Guess who gets to go back to the orthodontist? Hint, it's me.
That thereby ends the productivity of my day. I might upload all the bases and icons I made and have made previously, or I might not. I also started on the layout but, eh. I got bored. ::shrug:: potatoe.

I have seen Igby Goes Down. It was a good movie, I loved the dialogue [you knew I would] and the whole dark morbid sadistity [I make new words!] of it all. Lots of smart ass wit and eye candy. It was v. well done.
Igby's Grff scar was obviously a point of interest for me and his brother [a not blond Ryan Phillipe, much to my dismay] was named Olli. /end HP references. I blame it entirely on the cold of the basement. See what I have to do to watch a bloody movie? Freeze my stinkin' nose off! ::pouts:: But honestly, great movie. The commentaries were great too. I'm addicted to those things. Someday I'll have enough time to watch the deleted scenes with and without commentary as well. I watched with. I don't know, things like that amuse me. I would never go out and look for fanfiction or even consider exploiting this fanon but I like to explore those dvd extras, maybe I'm just lazy and a commitment-phobe. yup.

Was in NYC again for the... some plural number of Saturday in a month [not beginning of month to end by 4 week period]. It started out with my mother being a bit... um... annoyed with me. The whole, 'I won't talk unless it's to yell at you/guilt trip' sort of upset. urg. But in my family we don't do the whole apologize thing, it just stops and we pretend it never happened. Which is bad because I'm naturally preoccupied anyway so sometimes I start doubting my sanity over things like this. ::shrug:: Eh, it keeps me thinking.
Anyway, Queens, Chinese Dictionary Search competition, oodles of fun and a half. Basically the Chinese are crazy, my ancestors decided to make a pictorial method of writing -- it stuck and we need some way of organizing a dictionary so it's by root character. ( Read more... )
The competition was over by 14.00 and the "award ceremony" was at 16.30. If you didn't go then no prize for you mister so we stayed in the city until then. I would just like to point out right now that they have a lot better dollar/99 cent stores then they do around my house. ( Read more... )
With my newly waiting to be discovered knowledge I'm thinking of remaking the website layout before I debut it, I just keep putting the damn thing off because coding gives me a headache. My latest reason is copyright law guilt. I think I'll use only photoshop filters, my own brushes, and original photography for this layout so I can honestly call it mine, all mine. Nothing quite like a bit of obsessive pride to make a person happy.

I just dled and saw Christina Augie's [can't spell it] new video Fighter. The claims that it's a cross between Madonna Frozen and Marilyn Manson in general are only partial true. She's definately got the Frozen thing going and she looks about as good as Madonna did with black hair, not very. The general rule for going black: have a little Asian in you. There are, of course, exceptions, but honestly, don't you think she looks a little um... just not "right". The best pale skin-dark hair combination is the half-Japanese girls but that's just me. :) Anyway, I think the video had very much a J-rock feel to it and definately some Bjorkness going on, though Bjork is a bout 50 times slower and her voices isn't as... gravely.
I don't like Christina's voice, I really don't. It irritated me, a lot. I just had to say that. That and 'We're very proud of you for finding your "inner" whore, but let's not forget that your fan base is young girls. I really don't want to see them prancing around half-naked. The pedophiles need little to no incouragement, alright?'

We had the county Teen Arts deally which meant yoli got to miss mucho school and lounge around at the county college. Huzzah. One of my pieces was actually up because someone backed out so I got in. I don't even like it. damn.
In other news I feel a little less sick, my left foot's asleep, I should really do homework [like that art project], and... I made brushes last night in photoshop, thereby breaking more copyright laws for my own sick amusement. yay.

You know what's a really good movie? Gosford Park. I just watched it and loved it to itty bitty bits. [edit: That was at around 5 this afternoon. Since then we've gone out for dinner and then I took a shower.] And for some reason I felt all smart after finishing too. Maybe I'm just crazy like that. 1930s English Country home for a Hunting Party was the setting and the characters were the guests, the hosts, and the servants. Delightful movie, and not just for Ryan Phillipe [blonde fetish much?], Roger Clive(?) [Mr. Tall Dark and Handsom], Maggie Smith [Professor McGongall!], et al. The actors were all brilliant, there were British, Scottish and phony accents galore not to mention awesome directing and a truly ingenious script. I definatly recommend it.
It was a little hard to follow due to the fact that there are around 30 "main" characters but I'll tell you now, names aren't all that important -- trust me. Just sit back and admire. If you're a fan of the Regency period this'll be nice too. Not quite as antiquated and more Vanderbilt Era then say post-Napoleanic but some of the stuff was still the same. Anybody lost?
One day when I'm old and wrinkly I want to be just like Constance, Maggie Smith's character, all cranky and snotty -- an utterly unrepentent bitch. I can't wait until I'm 50-something and able to get away with gaudy lipstick and chitzy clothes plus some fried out hair which I won't dye so no one can doubt my age validity. It'll be great. I'll yell at younguns and threaten to staple their pants to the waist, with a possible deal of perving inbetween, assuming that fashions don't change. I swear, I'm half way there already.

Wow. All the colours are different... I adjusted the image settings again so it's darker and I guess I see "more". Tell me if you can see the colours on the three white backgrounds [here]. That's what prompted me to adjust monitor settings in the first place. They were all white on my computer!

But I got a letter from a friend today!!! A friend how coincidentally lives all of 10 min. away. Stupid scheduling pulling me away from my darlings. And I woke up all of 5 minutes earlier, to compensate for the 10 later yesterday, and I finished my Tale of Two Cities summaries in Social Studies so that 33/50 I got in Language Arts leaves me at an 87 so far. ::sniffle:: Badmiton in gym and an utterly full weekend. bah humbug.

I just got spam for 'Christian Singles'. I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean but... Since when would that have any impact on me? I don't care what religion you are [unless you're scary satanic and practice necrophilia, in which case-- no] but honestly, as if offers for lowered mortage, high school diplomas, bigger peni, etc. weren't enough.
