9:34am: Versus The World
And thus a second entry sprung forth from the very depths of HELL! Well, not really, I was going for dramatic effect. Did it work? No? Ah, well I'll have to work on that. I'll add it to the ever-growing list of things.
Anyway, the weekend has progressed nicely. Yesterday I went out and picked up some new metal CD's...
The CD's in question would be AMON AMARTH - VERSUS THE WORLD (2CD Edition) and PROBOT - S/T.
From my first few listens both are two-kick ass CD's. Which I gotta say helps when purchasing CD's, getting good ones that kick ass, that is.
Amon Amarth is, of course, my namesake here. For those who haven't heard of them, they're a Swedish, melodic death metal band. This is their 4th, I believe, full-length album for Metal Blade records. Worth checking out if you dig heaviness but also like melody (and can handle DM vocals), or if you have any taste in metal at all. Some don't, but they don't matter.
The Probot album is actually a project of Ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl (!). The album features an array of metal vocalists, ranging from Cronos (Venom) to Lemmy (Motorhead), and even King Diamond.
Anyway, It's pretty surprising how good it sounds...very metal. There's some cool cover-art by the drummer of Voivod (Away), too. I'd like to think that anyone who likes heavy music could appreciate this, but then again there are always the uber underground dolts...
Now, that I've whored some CD's off on you, I think I'll end here for right now. Maybe I'll come back later and ramble on some more. I can do that, you know? It is MY journal, no one else's (that I know of anyway).
Later Gator...
