AMOUNTING TO NOTHING

History

9:05pm: BUCKWHEATCORE 2007!!
- We are currently booking some shows so keep checking back. The music scene is a little cold around these parts but we hope they start heating up soon.

- We're also planning on hooking up with an organization that we can help year round. We had a lot of fun with the toy/food drive we had the past couple of Christmas's and we'd just feel like there's more we can do instead of sitting at our table trying to sell stuff. We could be gathering toys and food to help some kids or families stuggling, y'know? We'll get you more information about it before our next shows. Cool?

- We're going to start planning on getting another CD recorded. We've got some new songs and one just came to us yesterday so we keep adding to the mix.

- Here's a little something that has peaked our interest in the past weeks: "Most of the mining companies that drilled, dug and blasted for uranium on the Navajo reservation during the Cold War did nothing to repair the environmental damage they left behind.
More than 1,000 abandoned mines are scattered across the Navajo homeland, which covers 27,000 square miles in Arizona, Utah and New Mexico." Read more: http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-navajo21nov21,0,6565476.story?coll=la-home-headlines

We know uranium played a vital part in shaping our history - both the American and Navajo. It would have been nice if the government told my grandpa that working in the mines was highly toxic to his health. They used us (Navajos) for labor but didn't consider the health of our people past or present. This is an issue that all beliefs, ages and cultures should be made aware of and we hope you take the time to do so.

Pretty heavy stuff eh? See what happens when we're not playing shows? hehhe...
