Today, I discovered that I do not have a future as a graffiti artist. I'm okay with that, but I am not okay with being covered in spray paint.
Also, I was told by the head of performing arts that he has never seen a show with as many props as the one that I'm currently working... And he's done a gazillion shows around the world. Oy.
I unofficially open tomorrow. I'm really nervous, because I'm not so sure about my crew. I have a good ASM (Mike) and Light Op, and another person on the deck who's okay, but my third deck guy has never worked backstage before. He's also really unreliable, particularly when it comes to early mornings. 16 of our 28 shows are at ten AM.
Also, I have an intern. She's calling the shows that I'm missing for Dave's wedding, and I'm a little nervous about not being able to supervise her. I'm sure she'll be fine, but I'm nervous all the same.
