| Bio: | Seems like everyone wants a glimpse into another person's life. I don't speak my mind, and I hate to waste my words, when I feel that the time isn't right for it. (I'm not always right about it though.) Sometimes I wish I had said something. Here my thoughts can be saved. I rarely make friends-only entries.
About me
I'm Russian, according to my citizenship, although I do not like to affiliate myself with a particular nation; nevertheless, I'm Russian. I went to college in the United States, I've also traveled to Asia several times and I'd like to go to Northern Africa and the South of Europe. I live on an island where people from all over the world come to work and to make lots of money. I have two jobs - a dance job and an office job. During the day I work for a European company, and although my first language is Russian, at work I mostly use English, and it is also the language I'm comfortable with for writing. At 10 p.m. I take a shower, put make-up on, grab my costume and go to Baghdad - it's a night club where I dance. It's a remarkably enjoyable occupation, but sometimes it's hard to stay up and dance till 2 a.m. every night.
My primary interest in life is dance. Like it or not. Some people respect that and think it's cool, others think it's a passing craze of mine and shouldn't be taken seriously. Whatever. I've been dancing since I was 5. I don't have any dance-related college degrees, but I aspire to be a dance teacher and a choreographer, rather then a celebrated performer. This summer I will go to Moscow to try to persue this goal.
Computers
My parents are software engineers by education, and that has put lots of computer-related experience into my life. Professionally and with my college degree, I am a computer person, but since I'm also a very girly girl who reads too many magazines, watches Fashion TV, buys make-ups by loads, and lists shopping as her secondary interest in life, I tend to deny my computer knowledge, due the fear of being called "a computer person." It's true, but it just doesn't suit the way I want to present myself to people. (Yes, I do care about what they think...)
Dance
I love writing. It saves me when I can't dance - I'm very emotional and need an outlet. Dancing, is the most amazing gift that life gives you. The mind, the body, and the soul come together and become one when you dance, giving you the feeling of harmony, control, freedom, and happiness. When I dance, I feel that I live my life to the fullest - it makes me take my body to it's limits, challenge my mind, and open up my heart. I've become extremely dependent on this experience (read: I can't leave without it)...

Walking out of a night club after dancing through the night and noticing that the sun is out already

Watching new music videos with lots of dancing
Rehearsing in the dance studio all on my own
Buying a new magazine, bringing it home and looking through it for the first time
Watching my dogs sleep - they always look so adorable!
Feeling the warmth of the sunshine on my skin
Meeting people I haven't seen for a long time
Being invited (to a party, to go see movies, to come for dinner, etc.)
Chatting with my dancer friends, when we don't have any visitors at the club
Staying up late
Coming to a beauty salon and being treated with a cup of coffee and some cookies there.
Noticing things as walk past them on the street - like little flowers in the grass, weird clouds in the sky, homeless doggies playing, yellow leaves falling on the ground - and thinking how unbelievable amazing everything is, if you really pay attention to it. |
