I believe very strongly that everyone has a story to tell, and am sincerely interested in hearing about others' experiences. I try to fill that need, at least partially, by reading the journals of my friends on this site. I know I can’t possibly give them as much attention as they deserve... It doesn’t help that, at this point in my life, I'm pretty self-centered and introspective; perhaps too much, perhaps just enough. In any case, that's part of the reason I got this Blurty. I like to talk/write/read about myself. It's ridiculous how much, really. I'm not as stuck up as I probably just made myself sound.
My first passion in life - other than life itself - is words/writing. Coming in at a very close second is music. Other hobbies include talking to strange men who offer me candy to help find their lost puppies, pretending to be cooler than I really am, and test-riding elevators.
Here's a summary of what I'm all about, as told by a very close friend: "Mandie collects otter-shaped candles, loves to read books and also literature, and is a champion speed-knitter. Prefers small bills over pieces of old lint any day. Will someday be Dave Barry."
I've made a lot of really good friends on this site since I got my journal. I've also learned a lot, and grown up a little. Still have a loooong way to go, though. Even though I'm a different girl than I was when I first started writing in my Blurty, I plan on leaving all of it up for people to read... in case anyone in the future comes upon it and finds the solution to all of their problems within my journal's pages. : |
I have little time for commenting on friends' journals as it is, so if you ask me to add you, I may very well say no, simply because I wouldn't be able to give you the attention and dedication you deserve. (Ask anyway, just in case!) However, I love having new readers -- I have very, very few friends-only entries -- welcome comments from anyone (even if they're just to tell me I'm a stinkyhead poopooface), and recommend strongly that you check out the journals of those people I have listed as friends. They rule the school.
