Question: What year is the RP set in?
Answer: Harry's 7th year, so 1997-1998.
Question: What are the character journals?
Answer: The journals themselves are enchanted books. They are written in, and others can read the entries in a section of their own journals, and even reply to comments. The only way they will not show up is if a "private" charm or "so-and-so's eyes only" charm.
Question: What about the community journal?
Answer: The community journal is for OOC introductory posts, announcements, and roleplay.
Question: How do you roleplay in the community journal?
Answer: Post in the community with your journal. The majority of people go by "story style," so I'll stick to that for examples and such. Write up a "post," which is a paragraph or however long you like describing what your character is doing, and where.
Example: Seamus sat in the school library, flipping through one of the many books on Potions, trying to find information. "This is ridiculous! Three scrolls!" He tried to keep his voice down as he declared his exasperation. He glanced up as a shadow fell across the table. Shit, seems like he was too loud. He bit his lip and looked to see who it was....
That or something similar would be posted in the main community. Then, someone will reply, and you will RP through the comments.

Question: What about AIM?
Answer: Roleplay through AIM will go much the same way as through journal, only much faster usually. Each style of RP offers its pros and cons, but we use a combo of both here. Please try and post AIM logs in the community(behind a cut-tag), edited best as possible(take out ooc comments and such, and replace SNs with character names if you feel so inclined). If there's sex, try and remember to give a warning.
Question: What's the community's rating?
Answer: Since Blurty is supposed to be an 18+ site, the rating is NC-17.
Question: Is anyone under 18(in real life) allowed?
Answer: I'm not restricting ages if you act maturely.
Question: Is slash allowed?
Answer: Of course.
Question: Any kinds of relationships restricted?
Answer: No. I'm not restricting any sort of relationships here.
Question: What about SEX?
Answer: Have at it. The rating is NC-17. And above. So yes, you can post logs containing explicit sex scenes. Yes, you can go into explicit sex scenes in journal RPs. If one of you started the RP(made the post in community), go back and edit the post to say NC-17, if you can remember. It's appreciated, but not required.
Question: Are there any rules?
Answer: There are a few, but not too many. First, user proper English; that means capitalize your I's where they should be, the beginning of a sentence, etc; use proper punctuation, commas, apostrophes(I'm not Im, don't not dont), etc.
Question: Are you going to bitch little mistakes?
Answer: No, I won't. EVERYONE makes mistakes, including myself. I don't require perfect spelling or punctuation, just that you make a conscious effort to do your best.
Question: Do characters have to stay canon?
Answer: You do not have to stick to canon like glue. Characters of course will change over the period of time that's passed, that's understandable. But some things are too much, i.e. Ron becoming a flaming Drag Queen, or Draco going around all happy while passing out money and hugging muggle-borns.
Question: Do I need to fill an application to join?
Answer: No, simply join the community with your journal. Please make sure your journal isn't in any other communities at the same time, and that the character you want is available.
