| Bio: | Although I have struggled with this idea for about six months, and although it's still difficult to wrap my mind and soul around it, I've gotta face one simple, inescapable fact about me and my life: I'm the guy who got the "Do-Over" for which every mid-life dude yearns. I'm the guy who dangled right over the Great Abyss and got rescued--not once, but twice. Ain't no 'scapin' it. Ain't no denyin' it. Gotta recognize and give thanks for it. I got the chance to start all over again, rebuilding my body and life with benefit of all the lessons learned and very little of the excess baggage.
So, here's me starting all over again. I start with just a few simple tools--a good education, a rich and varied life experience, a fascination with people and their life conditions, a very good heart, a sweet and gentle temperament, a compelling desire to do good things with the great gifts with which I've been blessed. Here's me starting all over again with just a few simple acknowledgements: I sadly recognize that I never have been in love, and before my life is done I want to know the richness and joy that true love brings. I happily recognize, however, that I will find love when I learn to love myself--in a good and healthy way--not the stuff that'll make me subject of a VH1 special, but the deeper stuff that really makes it good and fun to be me. Here's me starting all over again with a body that needs some work but still works pretty good, a brain that needs some enrichment but still thinks pretty good, and a soul that yearns for nothing more than simple goodness--all day, every day simple goodness. Here's me starting all over again, looking for all the friends and helpers I can find, because I know that I won't get where I'm going all by myself. |
