Bio: August 15th,2002, the 56th Independence day of India,
might be more than a lifetime celebration for some people, an Independence
day for some others, and mere a holiday for many others. But the date means
something different for me, much different than it does for millions of
others. I turned 23 on it.

Yes, 23 years have passed since I opened my eyes in this august world, its
been 23 years since I took my first breath. 23 years!  Sounds good to
listen, doesn’t it? It was good to live too. Life has always been good to
me, or may be I always tried to see the brighter side of it. My father often
told, or rather taught me to see the brighter side of every event. And true
it is. One comes across a lot many events in his life, some of them are good
and some of them are not, he looses somewhere and gains at others. But what
he gains from each of them is Experience, and ‘Experience Teaches’. And
that’s why I believe, that ‘Destiny is something that everyone designs on
his own’. It is like a painting, which is complete at every moment, and
still the artist adds more colors to it, to make it presentable, to make it
appreciable, and to make it perfect.

The canvas for my painting was quite a vast. The early sketch was drawn by
my parents, here in Nagpur, which was then made more prominent in
Chandrapur. It was Ambekar ma’m, my primary teacher, who accompanied my
parents to put basic colors to that sketch. More colors were added when I
went to Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalaya T. (Ba.), for my secondary schooling,
where some of the best teachers in India, did their work as an artist very
skillfully. It was there, as my friend Amol says, I was polished.

Having finished my secondary schooling it was then, that I took the brush in
my own hands.

The early strokes were difficult and I committed many mistakes. But as I
said, ‘Experience Teaches’, I learnt from them. I tried the color of Love,
and found it the most beautiful of all of them. I found it the most
wonderful color of the palette of life, the color which brings out the best
in you to paint. But soon I found that the shade I used to paint was,
perhaps, not the right one. This helped me to see what life actually is and
whom should it mean for.

So then, many strokes went wrong and many went right, and all of them helped
me to learn how the painting should be done and how the final painting
should be.

At last, the life brought me back to Nagpur, where now I am firmly painting
with a lots of different shades. I’ve even tried the shade of social colors
too. My parents once being in the movement of Late Jayprakash Narayan, it is
in my blood. I with my friend Kshitij, used to run a group called ‘DSC’.
I’ve even led a protest march, to protest against the student-unfriendly
ways of Nagpur University. So it is in Nagpur, where the social activist
inside me, did a bit of painting, where I learnt my favorites, where I found
that how my final painting should be and how shall I proceed to paint for
it. The painting is much easier for me now.

Life has really been beautiful for me. I have made many friends, but there
are few of them, who are true to the word. There is Tushar, my best friend,
always there for me, there is Vinod, even who is always there for me,
whenever I needed his help, I always found him close to me, there is Amol,
after meeting whom I learnt how my final painting should be, it was him to
help me to find the right way to paint it, there is Arsheen, a very good friend, she really defines the word, there is Kshitij, together we
learnt the ethics and principles of the  truth and life, there is Anjali,
with whom I explored the new meaning of friendship, there is Akshay, my
little brother, being the ideal of whom, I always try to be good and above
all, there are my parents, without whom I wouldn’t have been what I am
today.

All these events and all these friends, feel me say, “I am 23 years old”.
There are many other things that I want to share, but the words are limiting
me. But still, the process of painting is going on and one thing is certain,
I enjoyed this whole course of painting till now and shall certainly Love to
paint more, this time with right shade of success and Love.
