| Bio: | Why did I chose the name "The Quiet Girl?" - Langston Hughes never lies. His poetry is like immersing your soul in a warm cup of cocoa. Much like the one i'm holding in my hand. I think that this particular poem speaks volumes.
Quiet Girl
I would liken you
To a night without stars
Were it not for your eyes.
I would liken you
To a sleep without dreams
Were it not for your songs.
The reality of it all is that i'm pretty low key... introspective, person. Ever since leaving college, i've tried to hold onto all that I thought was cool about myself then, but slowly i've been feeling like i'm going to loose myself in all of the 40 hour work weeks and pinstripe suits of life.
I live in Hampton Roads by way of Boston, MA... and i've traveled and seen alot of cool stuff. To put it simply, i'm the most pluralistic person I know. I like good music, try to understand and surround myself with all genres of good people, and I seek out opportunities that present challenging perspectives on worldly issues.
Just because I say i'm using a pen name, i'm not going to try and pretend to be someone i'm not. I'm by no means some delusional blog freak or a pre-meditated fraud. The persona in this journal is he essence of who I am when i'm sitting on my bed thinking about all the hypocrasy and nonsense that goes on, especially when it comes to race, gender and the human condition. It will most likely have my thoughts and aspirations for my life as I would like to see it lived in my twenties and maybe inspire myself/others to think differently about where i'm going.
