| Location: | United Kingdom | | About: | Welcome to the Harry Potter Role-Play...for those of us who are perhaps a bit older than the "target audience". :) We're asking that anyone who applies is at least 17 years old (or can convincingly portray such!). This is not because there will be a lot of heavy adult material, but because we want to have convincing and well-rounded characters that are appropriate to where the HP books stand.
Make sure you check the website for rules, character lsists etc.!
THE SCENARIO: We're entering the sixth year at Hogwarts. We'll be starting off having followed the basic plotlines of the books thus far-- and we'll be developing relationships and crises of our own through that!--although we may make some key exceptions. If you've finished reading "Order of the Phoenix"--and I hope you have!--you'll know what we're talking about. To start, we'll only be taking characters that exist in the books; once we have the main people filled, if you have a character you've created that will fit in, we're open to check it out.
THE LOWDOWN: We're not a primarily slashy RPG. If there is a really great storyline you have in mind that requires some slash, check in with us & we'll see where you're taking it. Otherwise, we're trying to keep this as "realistic" as we can (within the confines of the story so far, with a lot of creative license, that is!).
CHARACTERS: The list of open/taken characters can be found at the HPRP for Grownups website. There is a list of those we're hoping to fill first (they have asterisks * beside them). If you're interested, get yourself a Blurty account in your desired character's name & post your application (details below!) in our OOC ('out of character', in case you're new to this) journal,  hprp4guooc!
All main (and even lesser) characters--students and teachers alike--are playable, except Voldemort. If there's a character not listed here that you think you can do something interesting with (including pets, if you're creative), feel free to apply in his/her voice & we'll have a look-see!
COMMUNICATION: Everyone should have not only a character journal, which we'd like to see updated weekly or so (the Community journal should be posted to at least once a week, please!), but also have AIM where possible. Choose a screen name that goes along with your character's journal. Each character should be able to contribute to the storyline as it goes along. Be creative!
TO APPLY: Log in to your character's journal, join the OOC community hprp4guooc, and copy the following info into your post there. Some basics about the character you wish to play, as well as a sample RP journal entry, are what's needed. This will serve as your application. For an example, feel free to check out the application for Hermione's character, which is already posted in the journal.
