| About: | Welcome to the first Homestar Runner community at Blurty! I'm your maintainer,  ghaleon. This is a general-interest community, so feel free to post anything you'd like to about our favorite Flash cartoon. As special-interest communities spring up, I'd be more than happy to link them. There is a fledgling Strong Bad-specific community at  strongbadrocks, run by celestina, and one for TGS at teen_girl_squad.
I only have a few rules for this community, but if anyone willfully violates these repeatedly, I'll have no choice but to consider you BANLEETED.
1) Keep it on-topic. That should be pretty simple, since Homestar Runner is so wonderful, but if you feel the need to discuss your life here, at least preface it with some pithy comment about how you like/hate the latest Strong Bad email. We're a nice bunch of people, so the odds are that we'll be nice about it.
2) No flamebaiting, no trolling, and absolutely NO smurfing (getting a new handle to get around a ban). That's just asinine, especially when we're a community about an internet Flash cartoon. I'll warn you if you're being trollish, but if you decide to ignore the warning, bad things will happen. Do not contact me about a ban, or you will be banned from my own journal and reported for harassment.
3) Put spoilers (especially easter eggs) behind lj-cuts. Not everyone has seen the emails yet, and it'd be nice to keep some mystery for those who haven't yet seen them. For more on lj-cuts, visit this page. If there's anyone here who repeatedly, and intentionally, posts spoilers, I'll warn him or her nicely once.
4) Unlike some other Homestar communities on other journalling sites, I'm a relatively hands-on maintainer, so I'll enforce the rules as I see fit. If you think I was unfair, you're welcome to talk to me about it, since even I will admit that I'm not right all the time... just most of it.
New Rule
5) In accordance with Blurty policy, all Free Users must be over 18. If you are an 18- Free User, you will be banned and reported.
6. Homestar Runner, and all the rest of the characters, as well as the scripts and voices, are copyrighted, as the copyright dates on the menu page would indicate. This means that, while you can discuss it and reproduce bits of it as far as the Fair-Use Rule is concerned, you cannot reproduce any of it for personal profit without the written consent of the Brothers Chaps or their counsel. If I catch anyone bootlegging for profit on my community, you'll be instantly banned from here, and the Abuse Team will deal with you as it sees fit. In addition, I will contact the Brothers Chaps with the relevant information and ask them to proceed as they wish. I love the site as much as you guys, and I think they deserve every penny, especially when they provide it for free, without advertisment.
7. Except as far as it is used in sarcasm, n00b-speak and general idiocy will not be tolerated. You're smart enough to get online, so you can be expected to type passably well.
If you join the community, you agree to abide by these rules. The rules may be changed at any time, and a post will be made in the community about it. The new rules will be applied retroactively.
