    april 23rd!
I'm moving from my apartment in Santa Monice to one in Woodland Hills. You've probably never heard of Woodland Hills because really the only good thing about it is that there's a giant amazing mall there. It's in the "valley" which every non-valley liver hates...I'm pretty neutral about it. It's warmer there so that makes me happy. And it's flat so it'll be easy to run on.

I've taken it upon myself to educate everyone on where all of my goings on take place. The map is a little confusing because it's very busy, and no sort of color would appear very well on it. I tried to do a google map but I'm not sure how to save it once it's done.

Most of my work takes place down south, and my main campus of school is pretty far away from it. I'm taking 2 classes (2 nights a week) down there in May through June, so that'll be an annoying commute. After that I'll probably take most of my classes in Encino (lame campus) even though I hate it. But really, I'm willing to live with lame campus over cool campus and not have to waste $4 a gallon gas.

here is the front of the apartment:

the freeway is literally on the other side of the road, but there's a grassy knoll to keep out the noise and make it appear that we're living in a forrest.

and the pool and bbq's. you can't see the bbq's but they're there.

    the selling point:

yes, you're seeing it right. it's a spiral staircase! it goes up to a loft that michelle and i are gonna have as our dressing room. it's a one bedroom plus loft, so most people would assume one would take the loft and one would take the room, right? WRONG! we're having a bedsroom and a GIANT loft as our closet! who, as adults, hangs out in their room anymore? no one. it's the sleeping space. and we've shared a room enough to know that we can sleep through each others weird noises, and best of all, she talks in her sleep and it is sooo amusing. GENIUS!

    the master bedroom:

it has vaulted ceilings which makes it look like a barn. wonderful.

That's totally rad. When I was looking for apartments I kept looking for one bedroom plus den so I'd have a ginormous closet. Genius girls!

Were you like "peace out boring roommate who wouldn't even be my friend..."

seriously, it has been the strangest three months ever! i go weeks without seeing her and we communicate mostly through sticky notes. it's a very uncomfortable living arrangement. and mostly, i'm excited to decorate my own place.

Maybe your final sticky note can just say "suck it."

For some reason, I have so many random things to say about your post, so I will number them.
1. I love your map because SoCal is super confusing (although it looks like you go to school at LAX).
2. Don't you think it's weird that it's called Woodland Hills when it's in the Valley and flat?
3. The picture of the pool reminds me of someone's apartment on TV, but I can't think of who right now.
4. It makes perfect sense to use the loft as a gigantic closet, I think. And you could always sleep up there if the sleep-talking got really annoying. When I lived in the Avenues (that Melrose Place bldg in Provo), we had a loft and it always got super hot or super cold, leading to fights over the thermostat (but seriously, how rich do you have to be to not care how huge your utilities bill is going to be when you set the thermostat to 75 degrees in the winter?).

OK, I figured it out (I think): Joey. And that's why you and I recognize it, because we are the only ones to have ever watched that show.

1. I actually do go to school right next to LAX...not in it, like the map would lead you to believe, though.

2. It stretches to the northern part of the valley where it's kinda hilly, and touches calabasas which is the mountainy area before malibu...but yeah the majority is flat and kinda icky so i'm guessing they just wanted to make it sound nicer.

3. i have no idea...but it is a lima bean pool even though it looks like a circle. maybe some celebrity lives there and you saw it on cribs.

4. 75 degrees is crazy! although i do think it's the perfect indoor temp, it's way too expensive. so i'm glad no one's officially living up there because we're both utilities nazis, and neither one of us would want to do anything to make living more expensive...so it's good that no one has to be super miserable.

And I totally remember you living at the Avenues. That's where I visited you when you were getting ready for your wedding. And I remember that crazy girl that lived up there.

Schmecca? That was her name (at the Avenues). Actually, Rebbecca, but her annoying friends called her Schmecca. And I agree that 75 degrees is perfect, but jeez. She also set it to like 65 in the summer, but that was freezing. I've always had a dream of turning a bedroom into a closet. Are you going to get rails or a closet organizer or just sort of throw all your clothes in there?

i really want to get rolling racks like they have in stores, but i don't know how to get them. i looked at ikea and they sell parts to build something that looks like it, so i might do that.
but i does have a closet, and we'll put our dressers in it. i just think it'd be cool to have the clothes out in the open so it's like a real closet.
