    Current mood: exhausted
Current music:"At the End of the Day" I relate with those French peasants

    Work, Work, Work
    Bloody...

Who the devil crept up and sprung all this work on me? And why didn't anyone remind me that teaching and running a school is too bloody difficult for anyone to handle? RRRG!!

    -deep breath-

Oi, I swear, I'm beginning to think I either need to drink myself under the table or actually find someone willing to do all of my paperwork...

I don't suppose any of you are mascocists, are you? It pays very well.

Oh, who am I kidding. I'll just quietly go mad, and go down in history as the Headmistress who didn't last until her first year of running the school.

And George, if you can make a quill that can fill out paperwork correctly, I'll bloody well give you a plaque! Because I've quickly learned that in order to survive as headmistress, you must discover a way to dump your busy work on to someone else.

Molly, please drag me out of here! Just come by one day and kidnap me; I'm sure it'll do me good.

    -one hour later

Stupid bloody...Sibyll just dropped by with several concerns about the upcoming year; Albus told me she predicts dire fates for all of us at the beginning of each year, but I didn't realize how much was going to go wrong. I'm set to die three times (once by flu, once by bad blood pudding [I don't even like blood pudding], and once by accidental fall from twelveth storey window), and after all that, I'm due for a near-death experience involving a Chimaera.

I should fire that woman and re-hire her as a creative writing teacher.

Oh, look at the time. I've got seventy things to get done today (seventy-two, now that some unpleasant chores have been brought to my attention. Bleh!), and I have to get to work.

    -Minnie

Perhaps. My new house is all ready to be inhabited. I have Tuesdays and Thursdays off from practice. I would love sitting down at a desk and filling out paperwork. It would make a nice change from Wood's practices; I'm not going insane. Okay, maybe a little bit. So, can I start Tuesday?

I haven't actually reached my maximum capacity yet, so - call me up any time, Minerva. You need to calm down and prepare your first speech for the welcoming feast. If Albus dumped all the work on you before, why don't you get a Deputy now? You have the choice... I'm sure, Severus would LOVE to do some more paperwork.

Remus (offering to drink you under the table, but you have been warned!)

My Solution

Ok this is my solution...

Ginny has so nicely offered to help out on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the paperwork so that leaves you some spare time on those days. And Remus is right. You should appoint a Deputy. Even though he volunteered Severus automatically the decision should be yours.

I will be going by then on Tuesday and getting you out of there for a spot of Tea and some much needed mindless window shopping. I will go by around 10 in the morning so you can have time to give Ginny her instructions.

Your kidnapper,

Molly

Oh, I'm sure you'll think of something you can do! You're a brilliant woman! And you have such a large and generally useless staff...

I'll gladly join Professor Lupin to drink you under the table! I'll bring the Sherry! *evil grin*

I'm sure Ginny'll need it too! How bout Sis!?! Drink McGonagall under the table? We can meet them up when Mum kidnaps her! It'll be grea to see Mum totally smashed too! Oi, Fred, George, you in?

Ginny, I would love to have you do paperwork. Any little help could make a dent in that stack of paper. And I'm afraid to name a deputy; certainly, Dumbledore had a very clear choice for who to prime for Headmistress, but I've no idea who will be best for it.

Maybe Sybil... (Unless filling out forms interferes with one's Inner Eye)

Tuesday sounds lovely. I've got a meeting with a representative for the Ministry at 10:30, so it'll all work out well. (I've never forgiven them for the Umbridge situation)

And as for a deputy...

Well, I've got an idea, but it might not work out. But I do have a good way to deal with the paperwork, and it's all thanks to you, Remus. Dumbledore may have been a ridiculous old meddler, but I won't drive my deputy crazy. Ha!
