Malfoy's back--Hermione and I saw Peeves chasing Malfoy with the Exploding Spitwads I gave him (thanks Fred and George!) down the corriodor to the Slytherin common room. At least I've already gotten a good laugh out of him.

Now I've got to get back to that Potions essay....

So you're the one responsible for Peeves' attack! You filthy little...
Hope you had a good laugh at that, Potter. It won't be long before you get whats coming to you.

Responsible? Me? Oh, no...you have it all wrong! I gave Peeves those spitwads so that he could give them to Filch. I was just being a dutiful student of our school. I can see where you made the mistake of thinking that I planned it. But, remember, I'm a goody-goody Gryffindor. I would never do anything like that to a fellow student.

Oh, I hear that Peeves is camped out in front of your common room door, so do us all a favor and have someone bring you all of your meals until school starts and just stay in your room. I wouldn't want to see your hair catch on fire...it's quite a hazzard, isn't it?

You're so full of it Potter. I can't wait until Snape catches you. You'll be in for it then.

Oh, and you know as well as I do that Peeves is absolutely terrified of the Bloody Barron, who happens to patrol around the dungeons quite frequently. It's very unlikely that Peeves would take it upon himself to camp out for too long.

Here's the thing, Malfoy: it doesn't seem to matter to Snape if I've actually done anything. I might as well be guilty of the crime of torturing you if I'm going to get punished either way.

Of course, in this particular instance, I'm not in fact guilty, so it really doesn't matter whether or not Peeves gets chased away from your door. I was just trying to offer you some friendly advice.

Advice from the likes of you could hardly be called friendly.

Oh, Malfoy, you have to admit that it was good advice.

Apparently, Malfoy's too thick to take a little practical and obvious advice!

Yeah. Well, I won't be too hurt that he doesn't trust me.
