look its JEANIE: hes cute :D look its JEANIE: but your cuter i wish i lived in wonderland, wonka land, halloween town, or neverland . . . All in the golden afternoon Full leisurely we glide; For both our oars, with little skill By little arms are plied, While little hands make vain pretence Our wanderings to guide. Ah, cruel Three! In such an hour, Beneath such dreamy weather, To beg a tale of breath too weak To stir the tiniest feather! Yet what can one poor voice avail Against three tongues together? Imperious Prima flashes forth Her edict "to begin it"-- In gentler tone Secunda hopes "There will be nonsense in it!" While Tertia interrupts the tale Not more than once a minute. Anon, to sudden silence won, In fancy they pursue The dream-child moving through a land Of wonders wild and new, In friendly chat with bird or beast-- And half believe it true. And ever, as the story drained The wells of fancy dry, And faintly strove that wary one To put the subject by, "The rest next time--" "It is next time!" The happy voices cry. Thus grew the tale of Wonderland: Thus slowly, one by one, Its quaint events were hammered out-- And now the tale is done, And home we steer, a merry crew, Beneath the setting sun. Alice! a childish story take, And with a gentle hand Lay it where childhood's dreams are twined In memory's mystic band, Like pilgrim's withered wreath of flowers Plucked in a far-off land. ~*~ How doth the little crocodile Improve his shining tail, And pour the waters of the Nile On every golden scale! How cheerfully he seems to grin, How neatly spreads his claws, And welcomes little fishes in With gently smiling jaws! ~*~ Twinkle, twinkle, little bat! How I wonder what you're at! Up above the world you fly, Like a teatray in the sky. ~*~ Child of the pure unclouded brow And dreaming eyes of wonder! Though time be fleet, and I and thou Are half a life asunder, Thy loving smile will surely hail The love-gift of a fairy tale. I have not seen thy sunny face, Nor heard thy silver laughter; No thought of me shall find a place In thy young life's hereafter-- Enough that now thou wilt not fail To listen to my fairy tale. A tale begun in other days, When summer suns were glowing-- A simple chime, that served to time The rhythm of our rowing-- Whose echoes live in memory yet, Though envious years would say 'forget.' Come, hearken then, ere voice of dread, With bitter tidings laden, Shall summon to unwelcome bed A melancholy maiden! We are but older childen, dear, Who fret to find our bedtime near. Without, the frost, the blinding snow, The storm-wind's moody madness-- Within, the firelight's ruddy glow, And childhood's nest of gladness. The magic words shall hold three fast: Thou shalt not heed the raving blast. And though the shadow of a sigh May tremble through the sotry, For 'happy summer days' gone by, And vanish'd summer glory-- It shall not touch with breath of bale The pleasure of our fairy-tale. ~*~ 'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch! He took his vorpal sword in hand: Long time the manxome foe he sought-- So rested he by the Tumtum tree, And stoof awhile in thought. And as in uffish thought he stood, The jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came! One, two! One, two! And through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back. "And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!" He chortled in his joy. 'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves And the mome raths outgrabe. ~*~ Alice in Wonderland. How do you get to Wonderland? Over the hill or underland, Or just behind a tree? When clouds go rolling by They roll away and leave the sky. Where is the land behind the eye People cannot see? Where can you see? Where do the stars go? Where is the crescent moon? They must be somewhere in the sunny afternoon. Alice in Wonderland. Where is the path to Wonderland? Over the hill or here or there? I wonder where. ~*~ One pill makes you larger, And one pill makes you small, And the ones that mother gives you Don't do anything at all. Go ask Alice When she's ten feet tall. And if you go, chasing rabbits, And you know you're going to fall, Tell them a hookah-smoking caterpillar Has given you the call. Call Alice When she was just small. When men on a chessboard Get up and tell you where to go, And you've just had some kind of mushroom And your mind is moving low, Go ask Alice; I think she'll know. When logic and proportion Have fallen sloppy dead, And the White Knight is talking backwards, And the Red Queen's "off with her head!" Remember what the dormouse said: "Feed your head. Feed your head." ~*~ Come with me, and you'll be In a world of pure imagination. Take a look, and you'll see Into your imagination. We'll begin, with a spin, Traveling in a world of my creation. Anything you want to, do it. Wanna change the world? There's nothing to it. There is no life I know To compare with pure imagination. Living there, you'll be free, If you truly wish to be. ~*~ There's no earthly way of knowing Which direction we are going. There's no knowing where we're rowing, Or which way the river's flowing. Is it raining, is it snowing? Is a hurricane ablowing? Not a speck of light is showing, So the danger must be growing. Are the fires of hell aglowing? Is the grizzly reaper mowing? Yes! The danger must be growing, For the rowers keep on rowing And they're certainly not showing Any signs that they are slowing . . . Stop the boat. ~*~ What's this? What's this?
