    freedom of What?
I recieved this bit of information tonight and it annoys me. Though it isn't as bad as what it could have been it still comprimises your freedom. The church has too much power and Utah refuses to separate church and state. It's time we demand that the Mormon church keeps its nose out of the business of those who do not belong to it and do not choose to follow its beliefs. It's the same principle as abortion, if you don't like it then don't do it. Do not tell us what we can and cannot do, and don't tell us what is good and what is bad for us. It is none of your business and quite frankly it is not your right. Keep your nose out of our business and we will do the same. I'm not a resident of Utah anymore but I still consider it home, and everything that happens still affects me.

The bill to change to Utah's liquor law, SB 153, has
now been amended to allow minors in private clubs with
significant barriers. However, this bill will still
eliminate your favorite "mason jar" drinks such as:
Long Island, Mai Thai, and Red Deaths. You will pay
more, and you will face more ridiculous regulations
about how much you can have. The bill also tightens
restrictions on private club membership and guest
    sponsorship.

Consider the facts: 1. The bill was drafted with input
from only a handful of people that it directly
benefits; 2. The DABC asked the LDS church to review
it before it was available to the public; 3. It was
released to the public in electronic-only format only
two days before the public hearings; 4. It more than
triples the amount of money the state will collect in
taxes and license renewal fees; 5. At the DABC's
public hearings, the majority of the people spoke out
    AGAINST this bill.

Contact your Senators and tell them you want them to
    vote NO on SB 153.

i totally agree with ya. mormon people just cant stay out of our business. just because we dont go to church doesnt make us bad people or anything. in fact, im prolly the only girl in my ward that does not go to church, and the rest of the girls who are mormon are the ones that are going out and getting pregnant. Plus, their daddys are in the bishopric. Then they think that Im the biggest slut around town just because i dont believe in the church that much. you know? or just that i dont go, whatever. Just because im not LDS like most people doesnt mean im a bad person, or that i dont believe.
So, i totally agree with you on this one.

You know, that is a story I am all TOO familiar with. I still get the "juicy gossip" from my mother about the 16 year olds in my home town who spawn. She, like you, finds it ironic that their fathers are the big wigs in their wards, teach seminary, what-not. Look at it this way. many of them marry very young (entrapment, perhaps?). A few years go by and they pop out nine more kids but the marriage OFTEN fails. I know what you mean though. The "Molly Mormon" girls of Utah are never frowned upon for being stupid and getting themselves knocked up, not really. I wonder why? It's a matter of ignorance, "But I am the Bishop, my little girl knows better than that." (A true quote from a well respected Bishop my family knew) I suppose they would much rather assume that it never happened and be quick to blame their problems on the people who don't belong to the church or who slack, I know, I was an innocent victim myself. Being a boy raised in rural Utah as part of the only family in town that did not belong to the church was no easy task, nor was it easy for my sisters. My daily punishment was ostricisation, a nice beating to teach me for being different often followed. From time to time throughout the years I was told Monday mornings from friends who were Mormon that the topic within their young priesthood meeting was about "That devil whorshiping freak on Main St" part of the gab and gossip sessions. High School, Death threats were very common place and the majority of the school staff did VERY little, but I dealt, I kept to myself and enveloped my problems into my music. Yep, many scars that will never heal, but it's made me a stronger person. It's a shame that Utah in many ways has to be a HORRIBLE place to raise a family outside of the church. I love Utah, a lot, and if I could change the way things were out there I would in a flash. We need a revolution, No one but -us-, US being the victims of an Authoritarian society, really knows what it is like. Much like the Totalitarianism victims of Stalin's Russia (extreme yes, but similar to a degree), we have the Mormons, and our cases just aren't being widely heard enough. Hang in there and don't pay attention to what they say. As long as you know the truth that is what matters most. Don't let them get to you and DO NOT let them get you down. You can keep in touch with me if you want to, my e-mail is on my info. page. Victims of Mormon Utah, unite.

Thanx for the advice. I'm really glad that there is someone out there who totally understands what I go through. I actually almost cried reading your comment. I will keep in touch. Thanx for listening! not a whole lot of people around here do that, they're all to stuck on themselves to care about everyone elses feelings.

Anytime C.F.=). I'm here for 'ya. There is no reason why you should have to face it alone like many of us had to.
