    Looking Forward
For the first time in my entire life I am looking forward to fall/winter. Usually the end of August is really depressing for me as the summer ends and I have about six months worth of dreary, gray, ugly skies ahead of me...ok that is still depressing, but it also feels like this year there are a lot of things to look forward to. Here are a few things I am excited about:

    - Harper's 1st Birthday!! Tom and I are taking her for pictures on her actual bday, then maybe out for some other fun things, then we are having a luau the Saturday following her bday.

    - Tom and I starting school together. We have decided to try for some financial aid/grants and will hopefully start some classes in November.

    - Wearing all my cute fall/winter clothes that I didn't fit into last year.

    - Dressing Harper up for Halloween and going trick-or-treating!

    - All the other holidays - last year were her firsts, but this year she is quite a bit more aware. It will be fun.

    - Harper's new, super cute fall/winter clothes (size 12-18 months - she's so big!)

    - Tom not having to worry about watering the lawn all the time.

    - Scarves

    - My mom's Thanksgiving dinner.

    - Tom's 29th bday. His last year of being young, hehe.

    - Hot chocolate (that's chocolate not cocoa. Sara, you created monsters).

Obviously there will be things that I miss about summer. Like the sun. But have you seen Harper's Ugg boots?? I can't wait! (Thanks Erica, they will fit her perfectly).

I'm so excited for her ugg boots! I originally got them for elena, but she hated them. It's so creepy how similar harper and I dress...what's the deal with the photo shoot? Are we gonna do it together still? I might be able to get a free shoot thanks to my new found connections...I'll let you know what I find out.

Well we get a free 8x10 at the Picture People because we are entering Harper in the Yo Baby Yogurt contest and it's sponsered by them, hehe. But I also want to do some family portraits, so we can do that on the same day that we do the ones with you and Harper. I'm not sure where...if you have connections I'm up for that!

I wish I did. Haha.

All those sound like good reasons to look forward to fall/winter. What is she going to be for trick or treating?

I know, I kind of miss maternity pants.

I have no idea what Harper will be for Halloween! Any ideas?

call me crabby, but i hate all those things. i could really do without fall/winter. it depresses me just to think about it. i would give up snowboarding FOREVER to live in a warm climate where none of those things existed.

I have to say that I'm definitely not a fan of the windy days (anyone else with curly hair I'm sure would agree/understand). I'm certainly not excited for fall/winter weather, just the things mentioned in my post. If all those things could take place during summer the world would be perfect. Haha. OR if I lived in a place that was still sunny during the winter. This place is dark and gray for like 6 months. I really don't mind the cold, it's the no sun I can't stand.
