    Checking in
I woke up late (perhaps inevitably), so this will be quick. Just to say that unless anything really untoward happens to prevent it, duck-feeding is scheduled for tomorrow.

Double yay with extra fries! :-)

Oh I'd love to go duck feeding today. I actually could just go and sit by the lake today and spend some time with the fauna :)

I have loads of pics from Slimbridge wildfowl reserve. Couldn't believe how many different ducks there were there! Some really good pictures of a duck's @rse as it dived while I was taking a photo!

Er, yes, right, OK, that's not actually the part of a duck I was thinking of photographing, but whatever floats your boat... :-)

Good grief! I think someone has been spending waaaaay too much time online! Where ever did you pick up such language? Go and hit yourself over the head with Fowler's until the urge passes :-)

Oh, come on, I'm allowed to go boing when I'm enthusiastic! Anyway, the "extra fries" bit was shamelessly pinched from Jon of the Fforum, who would satisfy the most exacting standards of literacy. ;-)

Ah ha! Knew it was online somewhere, and I've just realised where you got "mad as pants" from too. Pratchett is superceded by Fforde. You always were a great picker up of unconsidered linguistic trifles, I just like to know where they come from when they are so unlike your usual style.

Boinging is most definitely allowed, indeed essential for health and wellbeing, boing away o boingsome one. :-)

Yes, I certainly do pick up such trifles... but on the other hand, I am very happy for other people to pick up the ones I drop! So if you wish to go round declaring that a day without chocolate is null and void, or indeed that a good-looking man (or woman) with no brains is like an expensively gift-wrapped slug, then feel free.

Actually, it does occur to me that someone made some reference to "huge-ass graphics" last time we were on the phone, so I am not the only one! ;-)

Ah yes, guilty as charged, but they were blooming enormous and took forever to download, much to my chagrin.

Yes, I know the sort... Fiona considerately puts a warning on her site about large graphics files which may take ages to download. I wish all webmasters did that!

Good grief, that post was a long time ago! If I recall correctly, I was going to Bakewell (a small town about ten miles from here), where there is a very pleasant stretch of river with various kinds of wildfowl, not just ducks. It's a popular diversion to go and feed them, and so, of course, they're all very tame now! :-)
