Benji Madden - Not who you think he is.
As my first day as the Unwoven Truth newspaper reporter and writer, I got the chance to speak to the creator of the community, guitarist of Good Charlotte, Benjamin Levi Madden.

I first approached Mr. Madden the moment I showed up and saw him there. I was a bit apprehensive about talking to him at first but after the first couple of minutes, I came to find that he is a genuinely nice person. He is a personable guy with a genuine smile and he isn't as rude as people make him out to be. He may be outspoken but he never means it in a rude way.

The UT Times: Hello, I'm Shauna. A reporter for The Times the local newspaper for Unwoven Truth. May I interview you,since you're the head honcho around here?
benj hates you: Uh..
benj hates you: Sure.
The UT Times: - smiles - Great! So Benji Madden. Nice to meet you! - extends her hand -
benj hates you: :smiles: HI! :grabs your hand and shakes it cheerfully:
The UT Times: - laughs - So it isn't true what they say about you.
benj hates you: :rae: Wha' do they say 'bout me?
The UT Times: That you're an arrogant asshole and you hate people. I never believed it but I had to see for myself.
benj hates you: ... oh. Well. I'm glad it isn't true. Well ok sometimes it's true, but only when I'm in a really pissed off mood an' people are bein' stupid then I turn into an asshole. ask anybody. Even my wife.
The UT Times: Speaking of your wife, how is Mrs. Brody Madden?
benj hates you: :grins: She's fine. Great. Amazin'. In fact, I could speak of her all day.
The UT Times: How did you two meet?
benj hates you: Oh man. I met her when I was 'bout 18. I was performin' for a local club in DC wi' the band. She walked in an' it was like... :shifts in my chair uncomfortably, turnin' red: Y'know, an angel walked in. She was beautiful.
The UT Times: - smiles - Aww, that's wonderful. When did you two realize that you should be together?
benj hates you: Well, it wasn't after I started datin' this girl named Ginger, Ginger from the Halo Friendlies? It wasn't 'til I started datin' her tha I realized I wanted to be wi' Brody. So I did. I mean, I'm the kinda guy who if I see what I want, Imma go take it, y'know? Luckily, she felt the same way for me an' we been together ever since. We got married. She had her baby. I mean, it ain't my baby, I didn't... y' know. The baby's father is Tim Armstrong, her first husband, but that don't matter to me. He's still my kid.
The UT Times: - smiles - What's the name of your baby?
benj hates you: Nathan Benjamin Madden. :-D
The UT Times: - nods and makes a mental note to interview Brody sometime in the future - So tell me, what's going on with your band?
benj hates you: Um. We're on break right now but we should be leavin' soon to go to Japan for the next installment of our tour. :snicker: Installment. HAH! Anyway. In the fall, we're tourin' wi' Tony an' the rest of the guys from Mest. Should be fun. I'm lookin' forward to it.
The UT Times: So there are rumors circulating that there's something going on between you and Tony Lovato. - laughs - What do you have to say about that?
benj hates you: HAHAHAHA it's all BULLSHIT.. First of all, it's all just a joke. Anyone who really knows us knows this. I mean, you see girls gettin' giggly an' shit wi' each other, always huggin' onto each other an' yet no one says anythin' 'bout it. They think it's cute. But you see guys doin' the same thing an' it's automatically assumed that they're gay. The fuck is up wi' that? Tony an' I are like best friends. We go way back in the days when we were still huntin' around for record labels. 'Sides, he's wi' Erika, yo. An' I'm married for fuck's sake.
The UT Times: - laughs - Okay, so how's your clothing line coming along?
benj hates you: It's good. Joel's still playin' 'round wi' the girly dresses. I don't know 'bout you but I think there's somethin' wrong wi' that guy.
The UT Times: - cracks up - And I hear your sister, Sarah is engaged! How do you feel about that?
benj hates you: Honestly? I couldn't be happier for her. I mean she's in love an' the guy she's in love wi' loves her too. I think it's right an' I think she deserves to be happy. Besides, I met Christian. An' he's a real cool fucker.
The UT Times: - nods - How does Joel feel about it?
benj hates you: I think hes happy for her too. We were both excited as shit about it the other night when we were talkin' 'bout it.
The UT Times: - smiles - Well that's awesome. - checks her watch - I'm sorry but it's actually time for me to get going. Ihope to interview you again.
benj hates you: Yo. Me too. In fact. Interview me every week. It'll be fun :-D
