Debating dying my hair back to my real color. It's not that I don't like this color, it's just that my hair dresser is so fucking expensive. It's $90 + a stupid $20 tip just to get my roots done. And since I have to do that every 2 months it really adds up.

The problem is that my natural hair color is this dark blonde/light brown color. What I have now is very obviously blonde, but the color of my natural hair can be debated. And that's annoying. Plus if my hair was virgin, it would actually be lighter from the sun than if she dyed all of my hair the same color as my roots.

My hair right now isn't even bleached. She uses a deposit dye which is the same dye you use to dye someone's hair darker because my hair is already light. This is as light as it can possibly get without her having to use bleach. I'm all stressed about it because I'm just sick of going to the hair dresser. I want to just leave my hair for like 6 months and not do anything about it, but then I'll have huge roots.

I dunno, this is dumb. I wish she didn't charge so much. It's not like she uses that much dye on my hair anyway when she is only doing the roots.

Or perhaps I can just let my hair get so rooty that my mom will be so disgusted that she'll pay for it herself hehehehehe

You could go somewhere cheaper or not tip her as much ($20 is quite a bit). I got my hair colored at the marvel place and it was $40 with style, they did a really good job too. If you are just getting your roots done that might be something to try. It would be super hard for them to fuck up a root job.

I'm scared of going to a newer place because I don't know if they'll know how to match my roots to my hair color. My hair dresser right now has like a specific formula written down along with my 'hair history' heh. Plus, they'll probably use bleach to get the color lighter. It seems like a lot of hair dressers don't know that you can lighten hair a little bit without having to use bleach, and I don't want to damage my hair with bleach because I'm trying to grow it to waist length. I remember when we all got our hair done at marvel I was trying to explain to the girl how my hair was dyed, but not bleached. She didn't seem to understand, but she was pretty damn spacey heh.

Maybe I'll try reducing her tip or something. I only tip her that much because that's how much my mom would tip her when my mom used to pay for my hair in grade 10. I wonder if I can just get it dyed but not styled, because it's painful for me to watch her totally fry my hair with an iron that is too hot anyway. Paying for that seems stupid. I wouldn't care if I walked out of there with wet hair.

Last time I got her to not trim my hair to try to reduce the price, but she only shaved off $5. Totally lame.

That's ridiculous. over $100 to dye your roots once every month or two?
All you need to do is go to a new hairdresser (someone cheaper but not marvel bleh) and tell her you just want it died. If they have any experience at all, they will be able to match your roots correctly. They wouldn't let you leave if they weren't matched I'm sure. Even if it's not PERFECT the first time, she can change it a bit the second time, and no one would notice anyway if it was a shade different
