So what is new with me? Alot, quite frankly. Last weekend Ryan and I went to Costanoa and rented a room from the Lodge for a night. See, it was meant to be very romantic and all except the fact that the food was horrible, and was way to expensive for crappy shit, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, the alarm clock in the room next door was ticking VERY loudly all night, and then in the morning the shower never ever even turned luke warm :( Somehow we had enjoyed getting away though. I just wished we had spent more time @ the actual beach. Ah well. Next time we go we're gonna rent a cabin from them instead of that stupid lodge room thingy. Ah.
So then yesterday I had gone to the store to buy some car oil to put in my car [Ive avoided this for a consistant 4 months now], and then came home to find that my mom's bf had refused to do it. He wanted me to! Uhohhh! *note*He wasn't mean about it; he's never mean about anything. He had all of the tools and helped me ALOT and told me what to do through the whole thing.:) So I drove my car up unto the little ramp thingies and parked it. Then after about a hefty half hour of bitching and being afraid to slide on the "creeper" under the car I finally did it.. and unscrewed the screw [lol, for a lack of a better term] and let the oil leak into a pan.. then put the screw back on. But the hard part was just around the bend because I had to change the oil filter as well :( I was dreading this because the filter was much farther down under the car.. and it was scary having sharp objects [and a car weighing 3,000 lbs.] about an inch in my face :( But after pissing everyone off with my complaining I did it all by myself :) And then put the new oil filter back on as well ... ahh - I finished up with putting air in my tires heehee. It was QUITE liberating I tell you!! I was thankful that I was pushed to do it. And I know that from an outside perspective this may sound petty but hey - I did it ALL myself and my car now has clean oil, and isnt leaking or anything thankyouverymuch! :)
Then after all of that I scurried on over to Ryan's house because we were going out to dinner [in Concord nontheless] with his dad's ex girlfriend [for like 8 yrs..from when Ry was little].. and it was so nice! I loved her to pieces & would have loved to see his dad with her =/ We ate at a fancy restaurant and she even treated us. Afterwards, we walked around downtown Concord & I bought a book at Borders. It's "You Shall Know Our Velocity" by Dave Eggers. Ive never heard of it/him but it totally leaped off of the shelves and into my arms :) Now I just need some time to sit down and really focus on it. ... But over all we had fun! Ekkkk I was so sleepy.and..
Had to work at 4am this morning:
and it sucked big time. My ass. manager and I opened up the store and the next person that came in was supposed to be there at 6:15.. well she didnt show up and it turned out that she had it "okay-ed" by my manager - who didnt let us know.. and then my manager [of al ppl] called and casually said that she wasnt coming in as well [she was supposed to be in around 7ish]...and that her car [a Cadillac Escalade] "wasn't working." HAH! One time my car wasnt working and she had someone pick me up - and she lives closer than I do! Well you can see how this put us in a pickle because now my ass. manager had to do all of my manager's duties [ie payroll - so we get paid, make our tips, and go to the bank to make change] so it was like my alone and it was sooo busy!! I ended up staying overtime [which is yay for me]. But dude I am so sick of my manager - she doesnt know how to handle anything fairly.. I think Im going to write an anon. letter to Corporate. Is that dumb? There's more to it.. Ah well. I feel its deserved. hah.
Sooooo after I left work I went straight to the post office [still need to mail XMAS cards ahahahah] because I need a stamp for Norway and I dunno how to obtain one.. and guess what I realized as I was walking up the stairs? I had locked my keys in my car.. I panicked... and was in denial.. and then walked right across the street to a kinda dumpy autobody shop.. and sweetly asked some mechanic if he could help - and after about 20 min he finally got the door open & he didnt even charge me! I was lucky - that couldnt cost me like $75 bleh.
*whew that was a long entry, and not well written lol*
But to close it all up/// some piccies! yaaay =P

Lovely photo's. It amazes me how some people just have an eye, or in most cases, two eyes, for that sort of Thing. Myself, I don't know if I have that. I've had a digital cam for about 2 weeks now (since Christmas), but have only taken one picture, an accidental shot of my brother standing in the kitchen with my mother, and now I'm not even sure how to get rid of the damn thing, or if that is possible at all. So it is good to see someone with the talent and know-how doing something with one.

I've found that most mechanics seem to be Good People. It upsets me that on most media fronts they are portrayed as dumpy slobs. I'm not sure why I feel this way. I guess I just view them as caring, helpful people, and typically with great senses of humor. (congrats on changing the oil. i've been doing mine for about 6 months now- well only done it twice- but it is somewhat gratifying (sp).

It sounds like you and your boyfriend really live it up. I don't know too many couples around our age who actually get away like that. So good for you both.

Aw you think I have talent? You're too kind! Although I will admit that I am proud of the ocean pic.. There was so much more to the scene that I wanted to capture.. but it came out well enough. The panoramic view just would have been lovely.

Hey - and you have an incredible talent for words my friend.

Lol yea I havent met a mechanic that wasnt nice =P

The ocean pic was probably my favorite. I also like the picture of you (I'm assuming it's you, second from bottom). It almost looks like you have a secret or something. I don't know, there is something in your facial expression that caught me off guard. A little mysterious, perhaps.
