Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry

Hello? Sorry, can you speak up? I'm on my shellphone.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I got a new job, hurray! I will be answering phones, although not in the bathtub. Can you get electrocuted doing that? Anyway, I got a nice new receptionist job, and I will be starting on Monday. I am excited to get back into the working world- after 3 weeks of being unemployed, I can't break the habit of waking up at noon- but I am also scared. I am scared that I will get fired again. My friends tell me that I shouldn't worry, but it's like being in a car crash- after the crash, any time you go into a car, you will be worried that a crash will happen again.

Apart from that, I feel quite relaxed and free. It's nice to try something new. I hope that with this new job, I can be the person that God wants me to be. I'm done with being a stressed-out designer. It's time for me to be a real person.

Oh, by the way, I have finally updated my personal profile! Click on "blurty_userinfo" above if you want to read it. I realise that my old profile didn't really tell you that much about me, so I wrote a new one that has all of the important stuff in it, like my age, cultural heritage, former boyfriends and pets.

I am wearing heels at work this week. Wish me luck- for the heels, and everything else.

Ex-boyfriends

Hey there,

I just re-wrote a bit of my profile, and also deleted a comment that someone made here. I wrote something about my ex-boyfriend, and stated that he had a particular mental illness. Someone then wrote a comment to say that I was wrong and judgemental.

I decided to delete the mental illness references, as mental illness is a sensitive topic. It was also not fair of me to write about someone else's mental illness without their permission.

I also wanted to point out that the person who corrected me on my ex-boyfriend's mental illness had the wrong boy in mind. In my profile, I was writing about a guy I dated in 2001 and 2002. I believe that the person who left a comment on my blog was thinking of a different guy, someone that I met many years after things ended with my ex. My ex-boyfriend was extremely open about his diagnosed mental illness, and even wrote about it and spoke publicly about it on many occasions. He showed me his prescribed medication and talked often about his symptoms.

I feel silly writing all of this, because it seems really petty. But I wanted to point out that I would never claim that someone had a mental illness when they didn't. That's a really serious and awful thing to do. I would also never write something nasty about someone when they had suffered something as serious as child abuse.

I wrote about my ex-boyfriend in my profile because I wanted to tell the truth about my life. I wasn't writing to hurt or offend anyone. However, I still believe that the person who wrote that comment was thinking of the wrong guy.

If anyone has anything else to say about this topic, you can email me at the address that appears on my profile.

hey girl,
i am glad you have a new job! sounds like it could be good for you too, i always worry that you stress out too much about the design thing. if it's not fun, it's probably not worth doing (a generalisation that applies more to design than life in general). and you've always been more like the macguyver of artycraftydesigny things anyway, instead of the 9-5 design careerer.
anyway, where is this new job? somewhere i can drop by and see you after work? we need to catch up! i can give you all the goss. ;)
ttfn!

Hey Scott,

Thanks heaps...you are right, people who know me well know that I never adapted well to the stress of designing. Byt the McGyver thing?? I never watched that show, so I don't get it, sorry...I am guessing that's a compliment? And gossip? Is this somthing to do with a girl???
