Groveton Fields.
Stretch my eyes, limbs like spies – detecting northern skies While resting my thighs, derelict fingers dancing in arc Lying about in the rain filled park – those blinking lights Air puffed streams from runaway flights. Every pull is a pain I feel, every reach hurts my bones Every kingdom, resting in silent thrones The grass beneath me, soft and wet The world from blue to black, exposé fade to retract Diamonds glint in the nearby infinite, the great beginning The forever in-between, restless struggles, within a dream Follow softly, lover in the light A breathless kiss to the moon / solemn taking flight Give way to floating skyward / anything taken seriously, Is far too absurd – lessons taught and lessons learned At least once, our hearts must be burned Little rain, speckled above my chest – lean in the heather Close my eyes and take a rest. I can hear it falling – I can see her in my dreams Running between the raindrops
