I need barrels in which to collect the emotional shit which has been raining down for the last I don't even know how long.

Yeah, while I feel like our lives are going well, the falling apart of the lives of the people around us is beginning to take a pretty serious emotional toll. Yeah, and the waiting for the other shoe to drop thing.
