I couldn't help but wonder if I'm perhaps not as free-thinking as I'd like to think I am... maybe I'm meant to think that.. then again, I do try to look at things laterally.. or do I...? It was then that the headaches started :)

Either way, I'm glad I wasn't the only one it interested.

I do, however, have to disagree with the writer about truth or falsehood being the only relevant criterion on which an idea should be judged. For instance, there are certain ideas (such as the existence of God) which are logically undecidable, and even in mathematics we know that there is no way of deciding whether or not certain propositions are true. There are other ideas to which the concept of truth doesn't apply, such as the pornography the writer mentioned. A pornographic picture cannot be "true" or "false", and other criteria must therefore be applied to it.
