"Monsieur Ibrahim" Ya Gotta See It!
This new movie staring Omar Sharif, is really special and heart warming, 'feel good' movie that doesn't get too sappy. I really recommend it on a day when you need your spirits lifted....a story about a Turkish shop keeper in Paris who makes friends with a cute Jewish boy. Charming story and beautiful scenery in France and Turkey. I have always admired Omar Sharif, who after early sucess in "Lawrence of Arabia" and the incredible "Doctor Zhivago," got stuck with a lot of roles smelling of arab stereotypes, but still approached the roles with a lot of class and professionalism.

one interesting fact. The original title was "Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran" but when it was released in the US, the "and the Flowers of the Koran" was cut off the title. The movie itself shows how sad that is, and what a mess the world is now, but gives hope for the future.
