Every once in a while, when you think things are going a certain way and life is just so clear and clean cut, you take a step back and realize that it's not like that at all. Even if you've overcome your own struggles, it's impossible to always see the struggles of others. And as much as we'd like to think it's not true, others impact us so much... Learning something about someone can leave you as breathless as a punch in the gut. And then all there is to do is take another step back, take a deep breath, and realize that we all are only human.
