Welcome to 2003, & Other Stuff
We hope everyone's 2003 is off to a great start! Things here are Blurty HQ are starting to get back up to speed after the holiday slack-off.

I few days ago we upgraded some of the backend components, including updating all of your user accounts to make them LJ cluster-friendly. A few of you might have noticed some broken images for a few hours during the upgrade. That was because we did the conversion slowly, over a couple of days, and a few things were strange on some accounts as they switched. Only a few people even noticed, and everything was fine once the changeover was completed. Now you are all cluster 1 users - no more cluster 0. I know you're excited!

We also upgraded some other random stuff that I won't even bother going into here.

Suffice to say, this site is growing fast (we'll be closing in on 100,000 accounts before long) and we're trying to stay one step ahead of the wave. (Apologies for the lame metaphor.)

Current plans call for another server to be added sometime before the end of February. That will greatly increase our computing power and should keep Blurty fast and furious into the foreseeable future.

We will be changing the account structure pretty soon. Don't worry, anyone who has an existing Early Adopter account won't be effected. We'll just be adding some new options for new members. Stay tuned for that change sometime in February as well.

There are a bunch of other things we've got in mind, but I don't want to overwhelm you with too much all at once. Thanks for all of your feedback and support as we continue to fine tune Blurty. Keep those suggestions coming.

	I think it would be really nice if the kind folks at Blurty would provide bloggers with the ability to add counters to thier blogs. Its really just a superficial thing but would be nice. They could either offer a counter of thier own or allow you to paste counter code somehow into your blog. Just a thought. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	I'm just wondering if you guys realize that your servers aren't sending emails. I know a lot of people who have joined in the last couple of days that haven't received their confirmation emails, and many of us have stopped receiving our comments in our emails. I have a dilemma. For some reason, the part in where I edit my info and it has the "About Me" section. It wont let me edit it. Its the part that says you can write a little paragraph about yourself. Ive been meaning to change it for awhile but it doesn't have that part for me. Do you know what might be wrong? Is it just the name or the system or what? Hmm. Id like some help soon. I've recently joined Blurty and I love it! I do have one suggestion though... could you make whatever changes need to be made so on friends pages the user icon of the person making the entry appears at the top instead of the middle. As it is now when someone makes a long entry I have to scroll down halfway to see whose entry it is. If it were at the top it would be more convenient. That's my only suggestion, and otherwise I am VERY happy with Blurty! :-) (Reply to this) (Thread)

I suppose while you're all on the thread of mood icons, I'd like to let you all know that I've made a few of my own already and would love to donate them to Blurty. Just tell me where and how and I can submit one theme already. :) I'm quite glad I found this community, as I'm a *coughLJrefugeecough*. Quite disappointed with the way -that- community is being managed mind you... but we won't get into that. I like Blurty's policy of 18+ ... I must admit that's what strongly attracted me to it in the first place. Add to that the ease of use, slick design and a friendly atmosphere and you've got a winning combination. 	yipes! The site is REALLY hard to navigate through. I don't know if it's just cause I'm so used to so many sites using the livejournal set up. But I can't seem to find anything anywhere. So i suggest (nicely of course) possibly a better user friendly lay out?? (Reply to this) (Thread)
