Run, bitch, run!
So, the laundry job didn’t last too long. 94 degree day on a floor with multiple machines running at once and few fans blowing. I’m surprised my health didn’t suffer more. I was done with that job though. Fuck their mandatory overtime. -_- I called in and told him I quit then did the same with the temp agency. Normally, you have to give a week’s notice, but Jennifer seemed to understand it was a health issue and threw it out. No blot on my record. So, now, a week later, I’m lined up for a hospital runner job. My feet will suffer, but given I’m inside a hospital, if my health becomes an issue again, guess what? They can solve it on the spot. I also have my insoles, so hopefully my feet won’t fall off anytime soon. I’ll be stationed in an operating room so I have a feeling lots of medical instruments will be moved by me. ^_^
I actually start tomorrow so yea. The hours are better, 7 AM to 3:30 PM. I can do those, the mornings will suck, but I like the fact I get out early afternoon. I get a half afternoon, and the evening all to myself. I can take care of the library easily too. The only thing I wonder is why is all the temp work I’ve gotten all full time? I know I get more money for it, but was there no part time work at all? I would’ve preferred that. Oh well, so long as I can get the time off for my vacation to HAX Land, it’s all good to me. Again, the job only last 89 days. Why is it that number? I have no idea. I’m hoping something permanent comes sometime soon. I’d like job security, please and actual benefits so I can cancel the health insurance Mum’s currently paying.
*pats cat who’s balanced on her shoulders* Poor Gambit, left by himself for so long. Not! Other than the stuff above, not much else has happened lately. I’ve been reading my butt off (as usual), and working on my DVD pile a little bit as well. I would’ve loved to marathon “Supe” before the new season, but I really didn’t have the time. Maybe if I were still unemployed…I absolutely love having my own money though. Having more than the unreliable survey stuff is nice. Since I’m working for 10 bucks an hour, I can save up like mad. So, tonight, I need to cement trip details (trains, buses, whatever) so I can ask for the time off (and get it), make a lunch, take a shower, and then go to bed relatively early. Relatively meaning whenever I think I get enough sleep to survive tomorrow.
