First week of vacation ended on a bad note. Yet another clash with mommy dearest. She can be such a fucking bitch when she wants to. Yeah, I'm really pissed...
So, since the last time I wrote, I finished reading the lastest Harry Potter book. I have alot to say about it, but in general, I think it was a better book then OotP.
- I actually liked Harry quite alot in this book. He was quite annoying in the last one, but I guess he matured.
- We got to learn more about Tom Riddle. All the flashbacks were really interesting. 'The making of Lord Voldemort', in a way. It seems like he always an evil vibe inside of him and it's most fitting that way. Voldemort as a nice kid? Yeah right....
- I didn't like the Harry/Ginny parts at all. I never liked Ginny at all and even though it seems like she has a personnality and character now, I still can't seem to like her. Besides, Harry's better off without a woman, at least for now. It'd be just a distraction.
- Ron and Hermione....it could've been better. I was a bit disappointed...
- Draco grew some sort of personnaility! I was a bit surprised, and glad. Tow-dimensional characters are so damn boring, and Draco just have soooo much potential. And Harry noticed that he didn't want to kill Dumbledore. I'm really looking forward to what will happen to his character next, no matter if he joins the other side or not. I could see both happening, in a way.
- It makes alot of sense that Snape is the Half-Blood Prince. Who else could be so damn good at potions if not the Potion Master himself? Now, about Snape himself.....no, I will not believe he remained on Voldemort side at that time. I truly want to believe he was loyal to Dumbledore. That the 'please' of Dumbledore meant that Snape should be the one to kill him and not Draco, not to dirty his hands with blood. And that Snape did it because of some sort of...vows, pacts, promises he made with Dumbledore. That Snape is going to die in the next book has alot of chances of happening, I'm not fooling myself, but I just don't want him to be a bad guy. If only to prove Harry wrong...
- Dumbledore's death...well, it had to happen...I wasn't really shocked, but it was sad. Harry had to be on his own to face Voldemort. I liked him alot in the book. I think in some way, he knew he was going to die, so he showed to Harry all the history about Tom Riddle, that know your enemy thing. Maybe Snape told him? Hmm....
- The next book won't be in Howgarts will make things very interesting. I bet a bunch of students are going to join Harry and fight against his army of Death Eater and other creatures...
Besides that....I went to see the fireworks Wednesday and Saturday with my nieces. Wednesday was Portugal and they really were awesome. I was gaping during the final from awe. Very original and beautiful. Saturday was Canada and while there were some interesting parts, they weren't that great in a whole. Only the USA are left, next Wednesday. I don't think I'll go see those...
Went to see a Korean movie on Friday, Some. My first Korean movie. So...of course I've seen better movies, but it was still good. Of course, the main actor was a total hottie, so it helped. ;) As for the lead actrice, I thought her acting in the beginning was a bit off, but it seemed it got better as the movie moved along. Although I was cringing at the part where some guy was going to get her and she just stayed on the ground and started screaming. I mean, shit, screaming is fine, but don't do *just* that! That always pissed me off when females do that in movies, tv shows, books, etc. Fight back, at least....
Oh, and we got our new car too. It's all new and shiny and super comfortable. It runs very smoothly too. I guess pale grey isn't *that* bad after all. Well, at least, it looks not bad on our car. It's nice to have a car where speakers work. And we have AC.
If the weather's good outside tomorrow, I am so getting out of the house. Fighting with my mother makes me want to do that. Maybe I'll continue my used book librairies hunt. That should put me in a better mood.
