Hey ya'll, I've just joined. I'm Ali, and I found this community randomly, and was excited to do so. I make mix CD's more than I would a mix tape... but I'm assuming that's not a problem.

I make a lot of mixes with a theme or a purpose, but the majority of my mixes are very randomly chosen and named. Offbeat names that only make sense to me like: "gummi bears and frosting kits" and "late night pantie shopping." why? I'm not sure. Or sometimes I don't even name them, I just draw a pretty design or pattern with some bright sharpies and that's it. But I consider CD mixing an ART: finding just the right song, and building a whole mix around it, matching in tone and blending together as a group, yet each track still standing out. I've found that creative, mixed CD's make great gifts: for my cousin's 22nd birthday I mixed/burned and decorated 38 discs for her, and she was bowled over by it. Over a year later she is still telling me what a great gift it was, and she has yet to grow tired of any of the discs.
I mixed a new one last night, and I'll post the track listing sometime this week...
