i think i'm going to take a hiatus from blurty for a bit. try posting everything to my other journal for a while and see how that suits me. not planning on deleting this one just yet though. if for no other reason than the fact that according to LJ support i cannot transfer my entries over without doing it one at a time. and with over a year's worth of entries, averaging more than one entry a day, i'm not quite ready to make that commitment yet.

yeah so I'm thinking about weeding through all the old journals, and downloading to a file... just WHERE to store this file though? and have some copies in print... but it also requires some re-reading & reviewing of material.

i figure if i can average 3 days/day i can get it done in 3 months...yeah? not bad... a little bit at a time.

the layout of Blurty is nicer though, i don't like the GUI & the layout at LJ... but you all are moving over there!! eek!

i agree, but i've only got like 5 active friends over here, and most of them post on lj, too. (whereas i have more than 20 active friends on lj, only a couple of which ever post to blurty.) gotta go where the love is.

for now, I'm still separating. (and occasionally duplicating.)

it is at least possible to download a bunch of entries all at once. it might be limited on year boundaries. the downside is that comments don't get downloaded when I've done that. The FAQ claims that you can only download month-by-month. But, I recall being able to download more than that. The URL is http://www.blurty.com/export.bml.

though, I do see that limitation they mention about importing entries. that sucks. I wonder if it might be possible through one of the livejournal software clients. hopefully someone implemented that kind of feature.

I look for you in both locations. so, I won't change my habits. which is really just making time, occasionally, to catch up on friends entries.
