Current music:Galway Girls -Drunk and Disorderly

I think it's cause he can't see where you're lookin'
So it was another weekend at Ren Fest. Yesterday was the day of the Tortulga Twins and more human chess. We were cleary recognized at human chess. Lady Elora said it was always exciting when we came, because of our enthusasim. Huzzah! We also finally made drum jam, but alas, the Man in Red was no where to be seen. It was still fun and very, very hot. It's funny to see all the different varities of dance that go down. Those gypsies man. Also yesterday (to go out of sequence) we got to experiance lots and lots of kissing, courtesy of the Morris Dancers. They have a dance where they call a girl up from the audience (in our case, they took the four of us) and dance just for them. When they're done, they get in a line and the kissin' begins! They started just kissing our hands, then they kissed our heads, one guy kisses all the way up my arm, both my temples and then down the other arm. It was a good time.

We ended up staying after hours with Justin. We started the evening at the Morris Dancers campsite. They were mostly adult men, plus three daughters of dancers, including the lovely Elenore, a pretty little girl with thick blonde braids and a lovely little voice. I sat next to her and she filled me in on all the goings on. They were all incredibly gracious and shared with us their delicious soup. We sat around the fire and sang folk songs. Mostly, the Morris dancers and chilin' sang folk songs (I'm talking folk songs, like old school English, French and Scottish folk songs). It was really lovely. Bill, the big guy who sort of seemed to be grandfather of them all and called us all lasses, made a point to sing songs that had an easy chorus or went in around so us PL girls could join in.

After a while, we headed out into the actual fair area, which is incredibly weird in the dead of night. We totally crept into the rooms of the hobbit hole. Sweet. We meet other cool people, including a lad named Andrew who is a squire. For the most part, everyone was very nice and cool to us, except the wife of one of the knights and some chick we asked about C gate. But a good time was had by all.

We returned today to see Puke and Snot (finally), who reminded me of Abbott and Costello. Except they were pirates. And they said dirty things. But it was funny, especially the thing about ball deodorant. We finally sat on Sir Robert's side for the joust and cheered him on loud enough to get a rude gesture from Sir William (the knight that Andrew is apparently squiring for). We also went and saw a group called Drunk and Disorderly that we first saw yesterday. They are most excellent and not at all shy about asking for money. Most performers are like, "Well, we hope you enjoyed the show, we'd appreciate your donation . . ." And Drunk and Disorderly are more like, "Give us a dollar. Buy our CD." We did give them dollars and we did buy their cds. Point of fact, Trina and I went in together and bought the very last cd they had on them yesterday. When we watched them today, I was sitting like, six inches from the tall, lovely eyed flute player. He would look at me and then look away, sort of nervous-like. I mentioned this to Trina and supposed that it was 'cause of my mirrored sun glasses. Creeping him out. Cool.

So now I have a desire to learn more old school folk songs. The Drunk and Disorderly cd will give me a good start.

Had No Exit rehearsal this evening. It was great fun, I usually enjoy rehearsal. We have a giggling problem. I have this one part where, after a longish, rather dramatic speech, I grab Eric by the face and demand that he look at me. Well, we just keep laughing. But I'm sure we'll figure things out. And here I am, not doing my Child Psych homework because I am bitter. Also, I got stung by a bee today in the car. And it hurt real bad. I had to have Heather dig the stinger out (thanks, Kiddo) and it hurt and got all hive-y.

So the younger girl of the two of Justin's fan club - I think her name is Leah - is the younger sister of Seth, the lovely flute player and he also used to be a Morris dancer, according to Justin.
