`*L0SiNG HALF A YEAR, WAiTiNG F0R Y0U HERE, i'D BE Y0UR ANYTHiNG..
last night was one of the most amazing nights ever! let me tell all about it.
so we were on our way to the show, stuck in traffic and nervous that we'd miss the first band! but we got there a little after 6 and only missed a couple of motion city soundtrack's songs. we went to the bathroom and then to coat check and headed into the pit!
we made our way up through the side to try to get as close to the stage as possible, but we probably still had like 8 or 10 people in front of us. but it was awesome, because motion city soundtrack was INCREDIBLE. they sounded flawless, just like their record. they played some of my favourites off "i am the movie," including "shiver!" i adore that song. sigh. they were awesome. i'm not sure how my pictures for them will come out yet, though, hmm. i only took a few. but as an ending MCS note, motion city kicks your ass, beotch. ;)
so after MCS, the crowd was pushing like crazy, which came to my advantage because i believe through all of sugarcult, the most people i had in front of me were 3, at times 2, and at times 1. :-D now let me tell you all about sugarcult..
FUCKIN A! i can't even explain how much they satisfied me and justified my fandom. sugarcult is AMAZING. tim is a GOD onstage, no joke! and even though ben wasn't there [poor thing had back surgery so this guy named carlos is filling in], the guys played incredibly. i was on airin's side, and sigh, he is so fun to watch! he's always smiling, it's wonderful. and marko is of course amazing as well! they played everything i could hope for! "you're the one," "daddy's little defect," "MEMORY," and so much more. there was only one song i didn't know, it was one of the new ones. they played three new ones, i knew two out of three ["she's the blade" and "memory"] so i'd say i did pretty well for not having kazaa or anything available to download! lol. i was definitely rockin out and i loved every single minute of it. sugarcult really takes that stage and owns it! they all had us chanting all of their names [well like, marko would have us chant tim, tim would have us chant airin, etc etc.. they weren't like 'hey scream my name!' lol], and they had a lot of crowd interaction. they let this guy from the crowd come onstage and use their camera to record for their dvd. i was jealous! but hey, maybe i'll be on it! lol. anyway, sugarcult was everything i imagined and more. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.
so after sugarcult, i'd seen everyone i wanted to see, so i headed out of the pit! i went to the sugarcult merch booth, signed up for the mailing list, and bought the sugarcult "kissing" tee [so hot.. it has two people makin out on it.. haha ;)] which came with a sticker pack, and some sugarcult shoelaces! they're awesome! i was excited! so i was chillin outside and i see megan so we're chillin or whatever, and guess who comes in the room. none other than TIM of sugarcult. i was thrilled! he had a mob of people to sign for, but we made our way in there! i had him sign my new tee, and as he was signing megan's shirt i was all "can i ask you a question?" and he's like "sure!" and i all asked him if he knew my friend danielle and he's like "ohh yeah!" and i'm like "well i wanted to send my pictures to her, so would you hold up this sign that says 'we love danielle' and take a picture with me?" so we did. :-D i can't wait to send it to her. hope she enjoys! heh heh.
after we met tim, we approached one of the guys from motion city soundtrack. i've had the cd, but i didn't know what any of them looked like so we were honest and told him that, lol, so he was like "oh it's cool!" and i was like "what's your name?" and he's like "i'm tony" and introduced himself and asked our names and whatnot. then we tried to guess what he played [we were kinda far back in the crowd], oh yeah, the drums, we were right! lol. so we ended up talking to him for like 10 minutes until some other kids approached him. we talked about warped tour and all that fun stuff, had him sign our tickets, took pictures, etc etc. he was really really nice! i love nice people. especially nice people in bands. haha.
so in between there we met three other guys [jesse, matt, josh] from motion city soundtrack, leaving only one more! they were all really really sweet guys. they all took the time to talk to us a bit, maybe because they weren't getting mobbed with fans, but they were great. had them all sign my ticket, took pics, etc etc. laaater, toward the end of mxpx's set, we were still out in the lobby area and megan spotted chuck from simple plan! now i can honestly say i'm not a big fan of simple plan, although i can't help but love "i'm just a kid," because it was my anthem for summer of 2002. so we went over and talked to him, expressed our love for "i'm just a kid," and told him how it was my summer of '02 anthem, lol. he was really nice but he was also getting ready to go backstage so he seemed a bit aggravated. so when i asked him for a picture i was like "i'm so sorry!" because i knew he was busy and whatnot, but after we took the picture he was all "it was very nice meeting you! thanks for coming!" and all that good stuff, so he turned out to be very very nice despite his business. and i must say he's adorable. even moreso than in pictures. i was all "aww" haha.
so after that, megan went back in the pit for simple plan to take some pictures. i already had my coat on [oh my gosh the coat check guy was so hot. we did some flirting i must say. hahah, then every time i saw him later i was like "omg it's the hot guy!" lol] and had my shirt and shoelaces and camera and stickers and whatnot and didn't want to go back in the pit, so i chilled up against this wall for a while. this guy came and stood next to me, SO drunk, and he was like "i'm jay." and i'm like "hi i'm sarah, nice to meet you." and he's like "you too." so i'm like, "what band are you here to see?" and he's like "none of them." and i laughed and was like "oh, i'm here for sugarcult and motion city." and he was like "oh okay." and i was like, "why are you here if you don't like the bands?" and he was like "cos i'm a tag-along." lol, so i was like, "then what kind of music do you like since this isn't your style?" and he's like, "i don't know, none of this shit!" lol. he was so drunk though, it was hilarious. he couldn't keep his eyes open, he was slurring his words, and he couldn't even walk straight. too entertaining.
so i'm standing alone against the wall and tim from sugarcult is like across from me in the merch booth. he was talking to some people and i'd already had my time with him, so i didn't go bother him. but he started walking out of the booth and into the stage area, and i was standing right next to that doorway. so he stops walking, leans his head over to look at me, stares for like 5 seconds, we both put this big silly grin on our faces and he continued to walk, lol. i will never forget that. it was awesome. :-D
i had one picture left and at that time i was regretting not having tim stop and take another picture. maybe a funny one or something. but i was really hoping airin or marko would come out because i wanted pictures with them! megan came out from the crowd and i was like "hey!" and told her the tim story, haha. simple plan started playing "i'm just a kid" so we HAD to go in for that one. we just went in the standing area because i didn't wanna go in the pit with a coat on, lol, but it was fun times. i have to say that simple plan has improved SO much with their live performance. i saw them in '02 at pop disaster, and only watched one song at this past warped tour, but i wasn't impressed with them then. they've improved much. but after "i'm just a kid" i was like "okay dude i'm going back" so megan came along and guess who was out by the merch booth.. MARKO!
i was like "marko! will you sign my shirt?" and he's like "sure thing!" so he did [w/ a little heart! aww! lol] and megan's as well, and he was reading the shirt she made and it had the lyrics to "stuck in america" on it and he was like "oh wow! i remember when we wrote this song in this tiny little room," and was all talking about how awesome it was to see it on a shirt in chicago. i told him how great i thought they performed and everything and asked him if they were going to be at chicago's warped and he said he wasn't sure but he thinks so! :-D he took the most adorable pictures with us. in megan's he was playing with her sugarcult shoelaces she had tied around her neck, and in mine he was throwing up a peace sign. :-D he is SUCH a sweetheart. i adore him.
after marko we had a struggle to find laura since she was still in the pit somewhere, so we eventually found her, and then we met the lead singer [justin] of motion city soundtrack! now we'd met all 5 members! i had him sign my ticket [now it's signed by all of the MCS guys! even though it says simple plan/mxpx on the ticket, lol] and we all took a picture together on megan's camera since i had no pictures left. i hope megan's turn out because her camera was so ghetto and didn't have a flash, lol. but all the other pictures i have with the band boys are on my camera, so it's cool. that was 8 guys i met all together last night. too cool.
anyway, that was my night. absolutely phenomenal. one of the guys from motion city [josh] told us that around april they'll be back... WITH SUGARCULT. i cannot wait! i told him he could expect to see us there! ;) so anyway, i crashed in the car on the way home, and when i got home i told my ma all about it, then got online and talked to tt and lindsay about it. tt was so interested in it all, haha, i love that girl. well, that's all i have to say for now. i think i'm going to get my pictures developed today! i can't wait!! adios!
